Hello everyone. Home of Wargamers has wrapped for the year and we had some major announcements. Below you will find recaps on what was presented at HoW 2024, and video clips from the event.
For those of you wanting to watch all of HoW, here is a link to the video on twitch.
Armored Brigade II saw Database Specialist Nikola Sandic give us a great rundown of all the features that will be included in the game. The leap to the 3D engine has massively improved the cinematic feel of the game. With a timeframe stretching from the early 1960's all the way to the late 1980's, Armored Brigade II gives you a vast period of history and selection of units to wargame out Cold War scenarios. With 15x15 kilometer maps, this is the upper most level of tactical wargaming.
Expect an announcement about the games Beta at the end of the week. Armored Brigade II will be out on the Matrix Store November 15th, 2024.
The remake of Commander: Europe at War is a turn-based strategy game set during World War II, featuring six immersive campaigns starting from 1939. Players can command land, air, and sea forces, manage resources, and research advanced technologies.
The game introduces enhanced 3D graphics, improved AI, and a user-friendly interface, making it accessible for both new players and veterans. Strategic planning is key, with the ability to influence battles through diplomacy and the assignment of commanders to critical fronts. Multiplayer modes include PBEM++ and Hotseat for competitive play.
Modern Naval Warfare saw a work-in-progress trailer released showing off new models of the US navy. The development team for MNW has massively expanded over the past year, and is working hard to finish up their work on the engine and implement ships and weapon systems for the game. We will resume the monthly dev diaries in the next couple of weeks, and we hope to have a beta announcement sometime within the next few months.
We understand the community is eager for more updates on MNW. The level of simulation being implemented in-engine is extremely sophisticated and has taken alot of time and effort. We are exceptionally eager to share more information once the game is ready for Beta testing.
Rule the Waves 3: Expanded Battles
Rule the Waves 3 is getting it's first DLC. Expanded Battles will give you the option to procedurally generate battles anywhere on the map in any time period covered by the game. Do you want to fight a small destroyer action? A massive WWII battleship showdown? Or recreate the plot of The Final Countdown? You can do it all with Expanded Battles. Expanded Battles will also feature several pre-made historical scenarios, such as the Second Naval Battle of Guadalcanal or Dogger Bank.
Look for Expanded Battles release Summer, 2025.
Flashpoint Campaigns: Cold War
A new Flashpoint Campaigns is in the works. Flashpoint Campaigns: Cold War will see you return to the battlefields of 1980's Germany, but at a much grander scale. Compared to Southern Storm, Cold War will stretch from the Northern Plains of Germany down to the Fulda gap and Bavaria. Featuring 10 campaigns, 45 campaign scenarios, and 65 standalone scenarios, Cold War will be a massive entry into this franchise. New features like dedicated transport units and air assault will also be included, creating a whole new dimension of tactical gameplay.
Expect Cold War's release Summer, 2025.
The Meyers update is on the way. While the old adage is that the only way to win a nuclear exchange is to not play, we decided that players deserved a chance to try their hand at winning an atomic war. Meyers will see winnable scenarios added to the game, allowing you to plan nuclear strike packages to win a nuclear war. Inflict casualties, target and destroy infrastructure, or paralyze the enemies launch capabilities.
The Meyers update will be entering Beta next week.
