Axis victory (Old_Shane). Allies resign July 1943. Russia and China about to fall. India pressed. DAK advancing into Egypt from Middle East. US landed in NA in good time but Italians held on until rescue. Nice dialogue from CRW and fun game. Rematch imminent!

ByNicho (Axis) defeated Pekkavilamoura (Allies)
great game, and thanks to Pekkavilamoura for being a great adversary, great turn rate (even when i would take a good 12-24 hours to respond sometimes), really nice game.
with the soviets on the ropes, allies surrender early 1944

Didn't capture DEI (tried but got kicked out), Singapore nor the other British colonies in Malaysia, really bad planning from my part, I planned for a west coast invasion that didn't even happen due to heavy American presence (in the air, land and sea) on the west coast, But at the end Japan was somehow coming back from the dead, gaining naval supremacy in the waters adjacent to DEI, and with china on the ropes.
Germany really did save the game for me, with the Germans fighting off allied invasions in France and Egypt, and with the German army fighting the soviets in the economic heartland of the Urals, the allies called it quits.
Tough fight and great battles.

Yes, great and fun game, very intense from first turn on, just how it should be. Epic battles like Rommel driving through to Baghdad but then being almost cut off when Allies took back Suez in his rear.
Tried to save Russia by early Normandy landing but didn't have enough punch to break out and expand the bridgehead.
ByNicho played well, gaining air superiority was key, inflicting high losses on Allies land, sea and air forces.

MerlinXL (Axis) defeated Pekkavilamoura (Allies)

Operation Seelöwe (Sealion) launched in July 1940 got lucky with an operational port in Plymouth, allowing the Panzers to pour in and steamroll the UK Home Guard. Axis went all in with diplomacy and despite the Allied counter-diplomacy, Turkey joined the Axis in April of 1941. Barbarossa was launched in August of 1941, but the real action was in the Caucasus across the Turkish border. The Allies put up a fierce resistance there, especially around the Baku oil fields (where Panzers go to die). Eventually, Army Group South came in from the north to encircle and then ultimately, destroy the bulk of the USSR army. It was also a tough fought battle on several other fronts that was well played by the Allies -- Notably, Finland fell quickly and several Chinese counter-offenses derailed the IJA war plans. But with Iraq, Persia, and Stalingrad in Axis hands, and a Japanese toehold in India, along with the Middle East under attack from both the Italians in the west and Rommel approaching from the East, the Allies sued for peace in October of 1942.

Special thanks to Pekkavilamoura for a great game and guiding me through my first PBEM, making it a very enjoyable experience. After having only played the AI up to this point, I was amazed and surprised at the many Allied tricks and tactics that Pekkavilamoura showed me.

Yeah, it was well played by MerlinXL. I wasn't quite guiltless though, didn't expect Sealion to happen so I left UK too unguarded, I don't think the top players would have let that happen. But still, well executed.
When UK falls it's just such a huge advantage for Axis, just a fight against time.

Axis victory (Old_Shane). Allies resigned in winter 1944 with China and India fallen (although partisans liberated Delhi as INA greedily left for more British blood). But Russia was holding on in a well fortified Moscow. Allies took Tunisia but were stopped before Tripoli by DAK coming by way of Caucasus and Iran. Battle of Atlantic was a draw. But too many Kriegsmarine around for a successful Overlord. Allies lost some landing craft, spoiling the last chance to gain some success. Terms soon agreed to. Good game and turn rate by CRW! He is learning fast and determined to go again!
