chinese destroyer has.... 112 (!!!) missile launchers.

talk about saturation.

not sure AEGIS (1980's tech in USN) can cope in Taiwan blockade/invasion/conflict scenario with this.

A US TF with aircraft carrier and escorts versus, lets be conservative here, 500+ missiles coming towards them, including a couple ramjet mach 2, 5 metres above water anti-ship C101.

By the way, conflict for Taiwan will happen in 2027, Xi openly informed Biden of this, and also gave the task for chinese armed forces to be ready for 2027 at the latest.

Things went badly also for CA Mikuma after Midway, it had lots of volatile Japanese Type 93 torpedoes (often referred as "Long Lance")...

That's actually a somewhat light loadout for a ship of that size.

It's only slightly larger than the loadout on an Arleigh Burke class. And China only has 8 of them. The US has 74 Burkes in service.

The US Ticonderoga class cruisers, which are slowly being retired, is smaller and carries 122 vertical missile launchers.

The vast majority of those tubes are going to be full of anti-air weapons.

The primary purpose of the Izumos is anti-submarine warfare. So they are just destroyers - with an unusually large ASW helicopter hangar :P
