Scen 17

Post by Andy Mac »

Inspired by Lowpes AAR I am doing an update to the beware of the Dorniers scenario ie Allied Ironman designed for Japanese AI players

I have a few easter eggs in there already but if anyone wants to be a pilot let me know name, preferred sqn or a ship captain or a ship name or a land commander

basically any ships from literature or films you want added let me know I will consider everything albeit still reserve the right to veto

e.g.

I have the
USS Swayback commanded by Rockwell Torrey and the HMS Compass Rose as a corvette for example happy to either add or more likely replace assets in the scenario if anyone wants to make a suggestion

I have a few easter eggs in there already but if anyone wants to be a pilot let me know name, preferred sqn or a ship captain or a ship name or a land commander

Now there's a thought. I'll propose myself for a HQ leader - "Messing, M"

Leadership: 61
Inspiration: 56
Naval: 53
Air: 59
Land: 72
Admin: 43 (Don't like pushing the paper)
Aggression: 92

I think you can quibble over the other ratings but not the aggression one.

If you're looking for extra ships, my two suggestions are:

HMS Terror (Capt Crozier)
HMS Erebus (Capt Fitzjames)

Yes. Both from the TV show "McHale's Navy." Binghamton was the flotilla commander or some such while McHale was a PT Boat skipper.

Do you have JFK? His Nav skill should be low because apparently he only had one of three engines running.
Seek peace but keep your gun handy.

I'm not a complete idiot, some parts are missing! :o

For pure inspiration on leaders, you can take a look here:

or here:

For more funny ones, maybe here?

Someone seeing "Cpt. Vader, Darth" commanding "USS Death Star", "Cdr. Lecter, Hannibal" commanding "HMS Lamb", "LTJG de Vil, C.",aboard "HMCS Dalmatian" or "CDR. Locksley, Robin" aboard "HMS Sherwood" ? [:D]

Hey Andy, if you don't mind adding a few family members into the US pools for me. Place them as you can. They all survived the war.
L. Cristanelli, a WWI vet, was called back to service for WWII as he was a Master Boilermaker. He was assigned to the Great Lakes Naval Yard for the duration. E. Cristanelli, younger brother to L. Cristanelli was also called up as he was a Master Electrician, also served the entire war at Great Lakes.

C. Cristanelli Sgt Maj, 1st Cav Div
R. Sawyer Lt, Rangers
J. Sawyer (DE, DDE, small escort)
L. Cristanelli Capt. (Engineers, WW1)
W. Sawyer (small mine tender/layer)
E. Cristanelli (Engineers)

I tried to find some Aussie links. This one throws up two fictitious ships of the era.

HMS Torrin, an N class DD
HMAS Dauntless, a Yarra PG

Perhaps a Dutch battlecruiser named Waakzaamheid (from Patrick O'Brien's Desolation Island) with a highly aggressive and high naval skill skipper
