We are Back

There is nothing better than sitting here at my desk, listening to some classical cello concert (Luigi Boccherini’s Concerto n.9 in B-Flat Major) and writing the first newsletter editorial of the year. It’s freezing outside, and the office is half empty because there’s a train strike, and no one dared to pick the car and drive to work. The release of Strategic Command’s first-ever DLC (Strategic Command American Civil War - War in the Americas) was smooth yesterday, and wargamers are dropping their first feedback in the forums. We’re back after a solid two weeks of holiday and a few weeks of setting things up. It’s great.

Our Weekly Shows

We have also restarted all our weekly shows: Newsroom with Giulia and Tea Time are back online. The first is on YouTube on Monday afternoons, and the second is every Thursday at 4 pm GMT on Twitch. We’ve also started two new recurring shows: every Monday on Twitch is now fully dedicated to wargames: we call it the Matrix Monday. It’s only a standard game stream now, but we’ll add a live show, chat with the players, and interviews very soon. The other show is hosted by our in-house streamer and community manager, Edmon, and it’s entirely focused on modding. What’s Your Mod is our homage to the modding world, its players, and its incredibly creative stories.

Focus on Next Week

The third episode of the mainstream cooking show Geek Recipe is also coming fresh off the oven next Friday. You’ll also have to check out the release of Nuclear War Simulator next week: it’s the deepest, most researched simulation in this field ever released to the public.

Strategy Makers

Being back means giving our players more reasons to follow us, play our games, and interact with us. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss the energy and the sense of purpose it gives to the team and myself. I see a lot of companies across many industries trying to expand their business way beyond their core communities and customers, going into places that are not their own. While I understand the business reasons behind these choices, I believe we won’t be doing that until we feel we have fully accomplished our mission as strategy makers.

I reinforce the idea that our goal is to attract more players to the fascinating world of wargaming and strategy gaming.
