Post by madmax88 »

Hi,
i'm trying to put together a Stun g fan site. But as i haven't received my copy of the game yet. I've run out of images and content for it.

tell me what you think so far (ideas)
and if you can provide with content(images), that'd be great.!

Looks very promising! I like the interface design.

You might want to know that the CD contains a "webkit" with some added graphics, PSD files, ttf fonts etc. When you got the CD browse it for the "webkit" directory and see what you can use.

Just a sidenote: centering the FLASH would look much better IMHO.

Thanks for your support!

arr, those darn automated smileys. its a Stun: dg fan site...not a stun g!!

Centered, yes. But actually i had planned to make it resizable so it would follow your browswer window. An advantage for those running their 15inch monitor at 1600x1200 resolution.

hum, by the way...
Are Matrix's main offices somewhere in europe, eg Germany? With another office in Ny for distributing?

Even better

Matrix main office is settled in NY. The rest of us "teleworkers" is spread all over the world (Germany, France, Greece, Australia for example)with a big chunk of them in the USA.

Sweet!
As soon as i can get more than two hours straight, i'll put some more work onto the site.
Tell me, does it still work like the old stun for starships... eg Is it only a graphical difference between the ships?
It would be great if the different types of ships had different capabilities, weak and strong points.
Are the canadians working from Canada or do they work at the Ny office.

Well, the old stun had only one starship to represent all classes. Divided Galaxies has 6, one per class. Capabilities remain the same although turn rates and combat maneuver speeds has changed a bit.

As for Canadians, as far as I know, I'm the only one. And I work out of my Montreal 'office'.

So you're saying that some ships are better handled in combat than others.
Well since there is no other advantage/disadvantage for each ship, isn't it unbalancing the game or even having players pick the same model all the time because it's faster?

Faster ships could have a downside as well (eg 15% less accuracy or something)
Some ship types could be classified as "explorers" ( +30% computer range, +10% speed, -20% firepower )
Some others as "fighters" and so on.
This could be implemented with little trouble, just need to think of balancing the whole thing.

What do you think?
ps: get me a green card, don't wanna work in canada no more, nor do i wanna work for ubisoft!!

Andrew's not the only one in Montreal--a fact I reminded him of over a beer last night.

So apezone is based in montreal?

If you wish, one day i could cross the street and help you guys put up a new game... you know, Montreal is such a small "village".

For those interested, i've had some time so i partially completed the technology tree. 8 weapon types are now available to view.
Also completed the twin window so that you can compare technologies easily.

ps :I've started working on the race&ships screen. I've used the three large images of the ship types available on the screenshots page (official site). If any of you guys could tell me where to find similar pictures for the rermaining 7 types... i could use. thanks

I've updated the site with the ships section, soon to be completed(7 remaining graphics).

Next i'll add the rest of the technology tree.

Let me know if you have ideas, things that you would like to see on the site.

Eric Pearson generously created a loop from the sudg theme. I added to the site.
If you think it makes the whole page too heavy or have any other comment, let me know.

Also added game requirements to thegame section and fixed a few more bugs within the technology window.

I like the site so far but wonder if there might be a key one can use to skip the intro? I've seen it several times now and like it but don't want to have to wait every time I go to the page.

Of course, i had planned to do that from the start but never got around to actually do it.

Remember you might need to delete your internet temporary files to view the updated versions as i.e. keeps old files for a certain amount of time.
