Even with all the forces I have in Egypt (plus 4 more Corps on the way, 1 on transport off Eastern Africa + 2 South Africans being built and one in Abyssinia), I think the Germans still could take it from me. I’m aware of multiple additional German units including (at least) 1 GE Armor Corps, 1 GE Armor Div & 1 GE INF Corps. I am surprised at not seeing the Luftwaffe down there starting to go to work. Maybe he’s waiting for Rommel? Even if he does win, it won’t happen fast.
Going to see if I can pinch off U-73 off the northwestern tip of Spain. Maybe I’ll get lucky and run into the KM surface units as well.
Also debating if I should ‘spawn point camp’ the Atlantic ports instead of trying to hunt. However, by the spring I intend to send the Atlantic fleet north to guard the Murmansk convoy line. If he’s planning on using Petsamo as a naval base the Kodiak bears will have a surprise for him <muwha-ha-ha>.

Germany signing the border and commercial agreement lowers the USSR mobilization to 29%. In exchange I get 2 strength + upgraded: FTR, AT and ART.
This is based on Crispy’s Fall Weiss DE, however in Crispy’s mod the units have 3 pips of experience meaning they will retain some when repaired. In TRP, the max exp non-HQ units can have is 1, so goodbye experience. That pretty much makes the GE DE a near no-brainer.

I am now regretting waiting so long to get the UK started in Infantry Weapons research (turn 9). Losing units in Egypt without being able to effectively counter attack stinks. I was also hoping that the Mobile INF Corps would not get popped in a single turn along with the DIV, as it was at supply 4 (due to being on a hill). I never go to AA lvl2 with the US. If you have to rely on that you are toast anyway
Also I do not go for ASW at all with the US. With TRPs double the turns plus a lot more ships hunting Uboats is even more trivial than in vanilla. If Axis player uses them, before France is down you got so many ships that you can craft a "net" from France to Greenland and just plow the Seas. Once you found one, attack with destroyers, surround with the other ships so he cannot escape. 1-3 turns = dead Sub. Rinse & Repeat.
After the French ships vanish you got plenty of GB destroyers who might get a level of ASW or maybe more depending on enemy research.
So US really does not need ASW I think. But thats just my 2c

At this point in the game I kinda agree with you. I did postpone their investment behind the more important ones.
Eventually they are cheap enough to be worth investing in.
ASW for the US is the more iffy one as they only get to start with 2 DDs (3 with the Brazilian) and CVLs and Maritime Bombers don't have ASW, only naval weapons. I do like getting to level 2 ASW as they have a large host of CLs. I also hate subs' strength vs. surface ships so I get the ASW to protect them. Additionally the US fleet gets the upgrades for free on her fleet if completed before they join the war (same applies to AA upgrades).
* On a side note, I don't use CA/BCs vs. subs as I find it grossly cheesy and unrealistic. Also I believe Lothos will be removing the ability of CA and BC to attack subs, not sure about CLs, hopefully he'll let them keep being able to.
As for AA I disagree, at least in multiplayer. The Axis player can mass his air power very easily and the US Fighters are either at parity or behind a tech trying to catch up. This means they won't hurt the bombers that much and AA provides units additional protection and a good chance to pop the bomber for some damage, eventually causing him to have to spend time/money repairing it. AA does an even better job protecting ships or at least mitigating the damage a ship takes too, as well as also popping the bomber.
Eventually they are cheap enough to be worth investing in.

In some versions it was possible to attack subs with capital ships. That's not good I agree.
But actively using them is not necessary (in TRP with more turns & more ships even less so). Just use the Caps as a passive screen so the Sub will run into them when trying to flee.
As for AA... I have yet to encounter a multiplayer match where Axis was able to amass a concentration of Luftwaffe so big that a Western landing would be in jeopardy. Well... I've seen that but then the game was decided already long before.
In WiE I recently even skipped researching fighter tech with US. GB got lots of them (add in the Carrier Aircraft for escorts). I skip both GB bomber techs for that

Keep an eye on this match.
Fighters are still good to have, even after you achieve air superiority/dominance. Give them Ground Attack 2 and they pave the way with de-entrenchment for heavy hitters to follow.
Oh, and of course in TRP they are needed simply for spotting purposes.
