It's T13 round 4 and I'm slowly pushing the Soviet defenders backward and the rails are repaired all the way to Narva so the supply levels are great. I'm going to need some more troops to form a solid front line in this area.

Here's what's going on in the Kiev area right now. I'm still fighting over the crossings north of Kiev and I'm slowly winning.

Here's what's going on in the Odessa area right now. I've surrounded Odessa and assembled a lot of backup arty to support them. I'm going to bombard them with the arty until the target hex is softened up a lot and then assault with rested units. I expect the Odessa takedown will take about 20 turns or so.

Here's what's going on in the Leningrad area right now. I'm having a difficult time pushing the Soviets south toward the city / port. The supply levels are excellent and I'm optimistic that the Finns will be able to push to the stop line within about 10 turns or so.

This is an image of what's going on down south and shows the Axis units pushing SE toward D-town and Z-town where the rivers meet. I'm trying to surround the Soviet units before I destroy them to keep the damaged Soviet equipment from going back to the pools. The rails are repaired almost all the way to the front lines so supply levels are adequate to continue the push.

It's now T15 and this image shows what's going on in the Smolensk area right now. The rails are repaired all the way to the front lines and I've surrounded the defenders of Smolensk and the rest of the force has zoomed off to the east to push off to the east some more. The Panzers are coming in really handy.

It's now T15 round 4 and this image shows what's happening in the Leningrad area right now. I've managed to drive an infantry division into Soviet territory as the first step of trying to drive north to the coast to cut off the supply to the westernmost defending Soviet units. I figured I would need at least a division to do that and I wouldn't be surprised to discover that more troops yet are required. I have forces further south offmap that I could divert to this AO to excellerate the take down of Leningrad. I've repaired the rails all the way to the front lines up north so now I'm working on the rail leading south from there to properly feed the folks offmap to the south.

I finally captured Smolensk but now I feel like I'm behind schedule because of the number of turns it took to take down the city and eject it's defenders. I don't remember exactly how many turns it took but I want to say 5. The rails are repaired all the way to the front lines. Just as an experiment I think I'll rail somebody from Smolensk to Berlin just to see how many turns it takes to get there and back. I'm thinking it'll take two turns to get there and a like number coming east. It's now 10Aug41, the dog days of summer. Plenty of time to reach Moscow.

This image shows what's going on to the NE of Kiev right now. I finally captured some crossings over the river and I'm spreading out and pushing south. I should be aligned with Kiev in about 10 turns or so. Maybe sooner. The rails are repaired all the way to the front lines and good progress is being made in this area.

I had a disband unit appear at Smolensk and I got curious about the disband units and looked them up just to see where I get them and when do they first appear. I was surprised to find one at Warsaw and 2 in Berlin. I'm sneaking up on the one at Bryansk and should have it in about 5 more turns. And 1 in Moscow to boot.

Re: Once more into the D21 experiment started 5Mar2022
One day a businessman took a week off to go hunting ducks and at dawn the next morning he hid out under a camo drape and was real still next to a large pond and sure enough as the sun was coming up he spotted a large gaggle of ducks approaching and he took aim and shot and a lot of them swerved in mid-air but only one was hit and he managed to fly about 100 yards before he fell to the ground. It seems that the shot duck fell in the backyard of a local farmer. So the businessman gathered up his stuff and started off for the farm. He got to the back gate and debated for a minute whether or not to just walk in when the farmer appeared at his back door and yelled: "hey there....how can I help you?" The businessman replied: "I shot a duck and I saw him fall into your back yard and I'm here to get it." The farmer looked around a bit and spied it next to the barn in the shade. "That it right there?" he asked. The businessman saw what the farmer was pointing to. "Yeah, that's it alright." and started to open the gate and walk through it. The farmer said: "Whoa there. It's in my yard so I'm guessing it's my duck." The businessman saw his prize starting to drift away in his mind and blurted: "I shot it and it just happened to fall here. I don't see how that makes it your duck." The farmer thought a minute and suggested they use the "back home" decision process. And the businessman asked: "What is this "back home" thing all about?" and the farmer said we kick each other in the nuts until one surrenders the duck. The businessman thought about it for about 30 seconds and blurted out: "Well, if that's how it''s done around here I guess I will." and the farmer quickly said: "I get to kick you first since it's my farm." and he walked over to the businessman and turned away from him and with a might backward kick landed one on the businessman's......."lower" torso. The businessman fell to the ground and grabbed his.....hurt place and made a horrible face. It looked like he might throw up for a minute. After about 45 seconds on the ground he finally gathered himself together and stood up. "Okay, my turn to kick you" he said. The farmer said "you can have the duck." and went back into his house.

It's now T16 round 5 and this is what's going on just south of Leningrad right now. The rails are repaired almost all the way to the front so the supply levels are great. I'm using the three main roads leading to the city and the Soviets are defending all three of them. But I'm making slow progress pushing them north. I'm counting on my northernmost TF moving along the north coast road pushing toward the city and they are much closer to the city than these groups. But these groups will eventually arrive at the city. I've got forces south of this map pushing due east to try to cut off Leningrad from the rest of Russia. As soon as that is accomplished I'll drive SE toward Moscow.

It's now T17 round 2 and this is what's going on NE of Smolensk right now. I've found a hole in the Soviet lines and I'm filling it with the troops I have at hand. I need to immediately rail some more bodies up here to help form a decent front line. Elmer is sure to be railing his defenders here as fast as he can and he can act fasster than I can.

Here's what's going on at Bryansk right now. The Soviets have turned the city into a fortress with a large stack of troops and equipment. My air shock value is 120% and the Soviet air shock value is 75% and my losses due to doing an airfield strike are larger than I would care to lose for all the hits I can get from doing the strike so I've quit doing those kinds of strikes. I'm concentrating on dropping bridges in the Soviet backfield instead. The rails are repaired all the way to the front lines in this area and as a result the supply levels are actually fairly respectable.

Here's what's going on to the NE of Kiev right now. I've captured enough crossings to be able to pour my troops into this area so I can push south into the Soviet backfield. The rails are repaired all the way to Kiev and the supply level is 14 at the front which is adequate for continuous operations. I'm hopeing to be able to destroy all the Soviet defenders along the east bank of the river before they can escape to the east.

Here's what's going on near Z-town right now. I'm fighting over the crossings and the supply level is adequate so I'm optimistic that I'll eventually be able to force my way through the Soviet defenders.

It's now early T18 and here's what's going on near Lengrad right now. I managed to surround a small group of Soviet defenders after having chased them east from the bottleneck at Narva. I'm hopeing to be able to capture Leningrad about 5 turns from now. I've lost 17.3K HRS's, 30.2 HRS's are assigned and I have 488 HRS's on hand. I have 9.3K trucks assigned and have lost 13.8K of them so far. I've lost 250 tanks of various types but still have bou cou of them assigned and several hundred of them on hand.
