Hi guys,

Lets focus on the good stuff. The bad stuff gives trolls the oxygen they need to survive

We have an great opportunity to take this thing a long way because we all care a lot about the game we're building and know we're all (devs and community) on the same team and continuing to grow a great game. It pumps us up more knowing you guys are actually having fun with this stuff and able to do the things you want with it.

Absolutely. I admit I sometimes succumb to the temptation to point out something Herman has done, but it's usually because I'm laughing too hard to think straight. But you are right.

As I said before, one thing people can do is write scenarios. Little ones. Big ones. Historical ones. Future history ones. Alternate history ones. Command with three dozens scenarios is cool. Command with three dozen scenarios and a free community scenario pack with three hundred scenarios (or six hundred or...well, there's really no limit, is there?) is going to be irresistible.

Does it really matter if its a beta release or not?

No not at all. He doesn't really understand the relationship between developer and publisher.

Then why post things like this? So he posted what he did, did anyone in anyway comment on his posts? Did anyone not buy the game because of his posts? Is he going to go away if you as developers continue to feed the troll? I don't know if he can see this forum or not but I am sure this is exactly what he loves to see.

Personally I am liking the game more and more and believe this game is the future of our hobby, and would rather have the developers focus on that than combating some perceived test of wills with someone we hope just moves on also.

So that when he runs his Rebel Underdog / Matt Drudge / Consumer Reports charade on you or anyone else, you'll know better.

It's funny. He gets slapped down by moderators at one site and immediately moves on to the next. It's like whack-a-mole.

There is no data to suggest he has an impact on sales at all and have no idea what everybody thinks. We exceeded what we thought we do in a year in a month. This is not what drives us though. We react to this stuff to stuff because we are passionate about what we do and our product. Or would you rather us back off, stick our heads in a hole and collect a check like some have done? That ain't us.

That being said I think my post was reasonable and was asking people to let him wither on the vine. Not sure why you quoted it to be honest.

Than do us a solid and when you see him post some bs somewhere say something. It will save us having to do it.[:)]

But... this is still a beta, right?
Imagine how incredible it will be when it is "done"..
though personally I hope it never is "done".

I think you're right. Trying to talk to Herman is, I think, a waste of time because I don't think he is interested in the truth. (It took me a while to figure this out.) Talking to people who are interested in the truth about Herman--e.g., saying, "I think he's a liar and here's why I feel that way"--is not a waste of time. But, having done that, there is not much need to say much else about him. The only trouble is that he's so annoying sometimes--I loved the whack-a-mole remark--that it can be hard to resist the temptation to go after him. :)
