50th Sentai heavily engaged in and around Kuala Lumpur. Pulling them back for some rest, their morale is good even going against Hurricanes. Probably should have had them at 10,000 and the Zeroes at 15K.

The Zeroes at Kuala Lumpur. What a wonder plane, for now. Needs a new leader now...[:(] Or maybe not, be fun to play with a 90 inspiration commander for a bit.

no "gun" support for carrier div 5?
that is dangerous, specially in a beefed AI scenario

First week of Feb 1942

High drama, as the BB Texas and CA Swayback sortie with lots of destroyers in an attempt to rescue a large merchant convoy with the goal of resupplying Luzon.

The convoy is finally chased down and destroyed, CA from Fifth Carrier Divison, the Battleship Division (3BB) and three smaller squadrons, I and R boats and one of the CVE CS carrier divisions were involved in the chase, but now the Texas looms.[:(] IJN intelligence leads us to believe the Texas is a WW1 battlewagon, but the Swayback is unknown.

Fifth Carrier Division, with nothing larger than destroyers, is looking to hit more shipping around the Marshalls.

KB is escorting the Balikpapen Invasion Force...

Brunei will fall in a day or two...

Malacca will fall in a day or two...the march to Singapore continues after heavy fighting in Malacca.

Manila will be besieged in a day or two...

If I remember correctly, the Swayback was actually the USS Saint Paul.

The USS Salt Lake City was nickednamed Old Swayback, but the USS Saint Paul did play John Wayne's "Old Swayback" in the movie In Harms Way.

Then there are these bad girls.[X(]

Japan is really struggling with search planes. The inability to reassign restricted units and resize air units really hurts quite badly. The upside is there is a strong air force in Honshu if comprised mostly of older air frames.

How much do you want to bet John Wayne is the skipper?

And Kirk Douglas is the Rabbi Chaplin . . .

He did conduct services on the USS Saint Paul.
