Britain Reporting.

Unrest seemes to be brewing in Europe. At leat one war, or border infriction, seems to on its way. Otherwise the game so for seems to consist mainly of a lot of peace offerings between different nations.

Since the british PM is new at playing PBEM he does not know what implications signing a peace treaty has. Therefore he has so far only signed 2, with France and Turkey. That does by no means that the Great Empire has plans on warring with every other state. Only that the british government is hesistant to go into a formal agreement with anyone else. Instead the mighty british nawy, RAF and expedionary force will wait for a favorable moment to interfere with the continental politics.

In other news the british government has declared a mined zone (border marked in red) in the north sea. Attached is a picture denoting the zone (taken from a another diplomacy map i opened). The british government hereby declare this zone to be mined. The british government does not take responsibility for the safety of war wessels from other powers, should they trawel into this zone. They could potentially even be fired upon by the british navy.

Image

Also the british Government announces its "two nations fleet" program. The British Empire plans to be able to field a High Seas fleet at the same approximate size of the combined forces of two of any rivals. It will greatly strain british resources, but it is a price that has to be paid to keep the islands safe.

ALARM! ALARM!

Turkey has been unjustly and viciously attack by the barbaric hoards from the Balkan States! This outrage must not go unanswered. Turkey requests all right thinking nations to take up arms against the Balkan agressors and restore our world to it's proper order. (With maybe Belgrade to Turkey for war reparations...[:)])

Aaah... the British Government is issuing a major threat allert because of brewing unreast in Europe. It seames at least two wars are brewing in Europe. As far as british intelligence has discovered there is a border dispute Between France and Spain, and a second conflict betwen the balkans on one hand and Turkey and Germany on the other side. Possibly with more powers involved.

The british government has so far been quite passive, busy organizing the island and Egypt defence and the British Navy. The defence of the british islands feel well prepared with the harbours well covered and several swift reaction divisions/corps set up. so eventually i will have to start thinking about an expeditionary force. Dont know where to deploy it though.

After a reorganization the British Army is organized as seen below.

Unit with 61 or more (Corps)
Unit with 30-60 sft (Division)
Unit with 11-29 sft( Regiment/Brigade)
unit with 10 sft or less (Battalion)

Dont know if its historical, but feels proper.

Also the armyunits are organized into different categories
Armoured units
Mechanized/lightly armoured units
Motorized units
light infantery units
Artillery units
Mountain units
Territorial units (militia)
Engineer regiments/brigades
Airborne Battalions/regiments

Any thoughts and suggestions about army organization is welcome...

Press release from Madrid:

France's opening move was to shell Barcelona from battleships, send 2 thrusts over the Pyrenees and an armored column racing from Algeria into Morocco.

Spain of course must defend herself and has valiantly thrown the French invaders back to the border, crossing into France over the northern Pyrenees, sinking some French subs, driving back the French armor from Gibraltar, and unfortunately losing several air battles to be honest.

However despite this aggression and some setbacks Spain continues to hold out! Long live Spanish independence!!

It seems that Turkey is begging for some help, after they realized it was a foolish plan to attack Balkan.... I read some Turkish muslim propaganda, which says that "Balkan is the invader".... Pffff, bullshits !! We only defend our young nation against barbarians from middle east ! And during the battle we saw how Greece suffered Turkish invasion, that is why Tito, our great leader has decided to freee Greece from slavery !!

Bonjor, zeis is ze French President,

Our forces have tried setting up a defensive perimiter between France and Spain in the moutainous region. This has proved very difficult with both forces moving vast amounts of ordinance to the area. Minor skirmishes have ensued. Nothing to spoil my afternoon glass of Bordeaux though [;)].

The mountains seem the key to holding this region. Therefore French HQ is creating a unit consiting entirely of goats with grenades strapped to their neck instead of bells. Those Francophiles will never suspect this... Muuhuhaaaaa!!

Sincerely

Charles D Gaulle.

More aggression from the Balkan renegades! Our troops are fighting valiantly while the rest of Europe looks on without pity! We have killed thousands of the Balkan hoard and yet they still come.

Will no one answer our plea for help?!? What poor neighbors and cowardly men occupy the places of power around Europe's table!

The Italian Republic has joined the Sultanate in common cause to eliminate the Balkan threat to the world. Our forces rolled into northern Yugoslavia unopposed, but we expect to meet resistance soon.

Il Duce, at a lack for words, has decided to instead steal the words of the Illustious Lord Humongous:

Lord Humungous's Speech

Dont think it could be said any better than that.

With the Italians attacking from the North, We are hopeful that the proper balance can be brought back to Europe. The Turkish Airforce has all but wiped out the Balkan Air units. Strong forces are gathering at the front for the push north.

On a tragic note, several Turkish naval vessels were lost at sea to the treachorous Balkans. We will be avenged!

Our army defend our country strongly against Italian and Turkish invasion, destroying turkish fleet and stopping the offensive in the south. Italian will have some surprise soon....

It s very hard to play against two players on two fronts, with NO help (everybody is sleeping in this game.....), i do well for the moment, but what are you waiting for to help us ???

Great Britain can not wait any more. After seeing useless live wasted in the bloody war between France and Spain the british empire has decided to intervene and separate the forces by force. An expeditionary force has been landed to secure the border area and separate the combatants. Civilian life must be spared, even if it comes at a cost of some of the military forces.

Sincerely

hm Queen Victoria XVIII

Spain will be glad to have British help to throw the French back across their borders into France and cleansed from Spanish soil. English help is welcome as the French invaders got the initiative and have been causing heavy losses to Spain.

Spain officially thanks hm Queen Victoria for her help against the perfidious French invaders - together we shall throw them back into France!!

The Turkish Air Frce lashes out at forward Balkan troops killing many. Our troops have advanced to within 130 km of Belgrade and can see the dust from advancing Italian troops coming from the north. We have also partially surrounded Bucharest in the east.

Soon victory shall be ours!

Spain was surprised to learn that Britain plans to "separate the forces" of Spain and France by invading western Spain. This does not seem to be an effective way to separate Spain and France.

This instead appears to the common observer to be a stab in Spain's back after the initial French invasion.

Apparently Britain is a vulture that hopes to peck at Spain's back while Spain continues its assault from the east.

Spain will certainly fall under this combined assault and calls on all countries of Europe to rally to Spain's cause before the combined forces of Britain and France conquer Spain. Once that is done you will be next.

Nice move [:D]. I was getting worried about that splitting forces business for a minute. What the screenshot doesn't show you is the masses of Spanish forces near Barcelona attacking Southern France! This news is a relief for exhausted French forces who need to sit down for a siesta of wine and freshly baked baguette [&o]

Ah well it is easy enough to dispel the usual French lies about Spanish attackers near Barcelona. As even the most ignorant observer can see from this screenshot - the Spanish are all on our side of the border and it is the French who are attacking along w/ the Brits.

In the end though it matters not that France attacked Spain with no motive, and that Britain has stabbed Spain in the back. All that matter is power - and the combination of British and French power will certainly put an end to Spain.

P.S. You'll get a Spain opened round 6 twice when you get your round 8 I think - I'd already done my turn and sent to Scandinavia - had to re-open round 6 to get this screenshot to refute the obvious French lies. But you won't get it in round 7 since I didn't open twice - merely re-opened after saving round 6 for Scandinavia and sending it.

As the news of the british expeditionary force has seeped out Britain sees no reason to deny its involvement in the conflict any more. The hearts of our men are strong and our cause just. It does need to be pointed out that Britain has never had any diplomatic agreement with Spain. So any description regarding certain sharp metal objects beeing thrust in to the hispanic peoples posteriors must be utterly refuted. As all nations start at war it seems that the british government can not be faulted with any lies or misinformations.

With France however some diplomatic letters have been exchanged. However, HM must point out that we are neutral in this conflict. Our forces have only been landed to secure the safety of the large british minorities living in portugal, moroco and barcelona.

Sincerely

HM Queen Victoria XVIII
