China Nat Flag removal and other censorship behavior

Post by OldCrowBalthazor »

I have been getting reports of YouYube blocking commenters when the subject of China is brought up in my TRP-World series. Possibly this may happen when I do SC-War in the Pacific Grand Campaign 'Day of Infamy'.
This PRC co-opting of western Corporations like YT and its comment censorship and recent Steam decision regarding the Nationalist China flag removal before SC-War in the Pacific could be released can be better understood by watching the Jesse Michels vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePdH01pphbk&t=0s

I will try another approach then to get around the Great Wall that's built here on this side of the Pacific......

Well read into the broad context. If you have a problem with the UAP part, ask yourself why the US Congress is pressing forward with that particular topic?
btw I didn't post this to discuss UAP's but because I am super annoyed with PRC like censorship that has creeped in here in the West.

Also this vid discusses PRC's long term Grand Strategy, adapted from the Warring States period. So that is relevant since this community plays war-games, especially grand strategic ones.

Unidentified Aerial Phenomena? I think Congress has pressed forward with nothing new about it ha. Sure it has been talked about more but nothing has come from it.

This could probably derail into off topic subjects not really meant for this game forum but I've never been a big conspiracy theorist guy in general.

I honestly think all of this China flag stuff comes down to one thing. Money. Companies want to keep the Chinese happy for access to all of the Chinese customers. So they give in to their flag demands or whatever.

Yeah YouTube has been frustrating with not allowing certain words and comments posted. You can post something and it will just not show up. And does not allow you to post links. It sucks yes but it is really just a bot they are using to prevent negative things from happening. For example I could not post banzai suicide charge I am pretty sure because of the word suicide. There is so much horrible stuff that has been posted that they kind of have to be that way. So as frustrating as it can be sometimes I do sort of get why they do it.

that's only one side, the Western corporation's side, of the story, though? Sure, they give in because money is the only rationale that matters, but this is not the rationale on the other side of the story (at least not directly anyway).

And it's not really a conspiracy theory when it's a pretty much publicly stated ambition & doctrine by a publicly recognized government of a global super power.

Right. I do have a problem with say trying to shut down TikTok for example because people say China is using it to take over the world. TikTok in my opinion is one of the greatest tools of free speech out there at the moment...

Video made, "unavailable" on my side of the world.
Glad to feel safe from triggers.
