Incremental Ratings Changes: Who Uses Them?

Post by KG Erwin »

How many times during the course of a 162 game season does this occur?

I find the concept interesting, as I like the idea of someone's skills actually not being written in stone for a whole season but, since I doubt I will be starting any new associations in the near future, I won't get a chance to use it.

I use it. I think it's a bit more in line with how things happen in real life. Skills improve and erode throughout a season. It'd be nice to see a player bloom during a pennant run, and a player's age catch up to them during the same time.

I'm not sure the changes are dramatic enough for that, but it's still an interesting concept.

I usually see it around the beginning of June and the end of July. I enjoy the feature.

I use and think it's a great feature. It's pretty subtle.

It only shows an annual number on the "ratings history", right? I have the feature on, but I don't notice any changes in mid-season on that report. However, I have seen some individual player ratings change so I think it is working as intended.

I use this feature too for the reasons already cited--it seems more like real life.  I usually play a 154 game schedule, and the ratings are refigured after game 50 and game 100.  The only goofy thing about this is that it usually resets all pitchers to "feeling great" so you could start the same pitcher two games in a row with little effect.

I use them only because it is the only tool that shows the grind of the season and the growth of the rookies.

Hey Mates ... long time since I've been here and a lot has been done to the game with tremendous improvements ... anyway, like GNDN says "tool that shows the grind of the season and the growth of the rookies": ... I enjoy this tool as one of many challenges that PSB07 has to offer ... the players usually changes at the beginning of each month with different rating for each of their five tools as well as the pitchers - this way it produce a more realistic average on a day to day grind of baseball ...

I think these changes also affect how the AI views players in trades. I notice players going up or down the list, and some deals that are there one month go away the next, or vice versa (players become easier to get).
