1.76 Progress report
Here are the tested and implemented changes/fixes so far: (I have more on the way, but these are done)
* Fix - Outfielders were all being assigned the RF position in some import years such as 1993.
* Fix - The ballpark designer was not "remembering" the Home and Visitor Team Info Window Positions.
* Tweak - Improved algorithms for calculating real player speed. Leading to more realistic SB and runner advancement in real player associations.
* Tweak - In associations that us modern closer rules, the AI will tend to carry 11 pitchers as opposed to 10. This has the effect of reducing overall bullpen fatigue.
* Tweak - Added "Display Options" back to the options dialog. This will allow users to select the "Force 1024x768 Full Screen" display mode, for those to want to run the game full screen as opposed to in a 1024x768 window. Note: In this mode, Puresim will actually change your screen resolution and then change it back upon exit.
* Note - Window positions on ballparks will need to be re-positioned as of 1.76. Tip: You can move the windows during a game and their positions will persist.

I have never seen this. Any details will be helpful -- screen shots, league configuration etc.

RE: 1.76 Progress report
I just downloaded the game file again. Perhaps I had a bad file to begin with. I will reinstall and see if that eliminates that weird happening. I am also running Internet Explorer 8. Woudl that be a problem?

Thank you for the changes that "tighten-up" the game for the historical players. [:)]

Shaun, thanks for keeping us posted about the additional updates you are making to the game.
About the ballpark designer, can you check on the scoreboard window positioning as well? I had posted a reply in another thread about window positions, and I found that the home and visitor team info windows and the scoreboard window would not maintain positions.

Also, if it is not too much trouble for you, as you make updates to the game, can you let us know which updates were made in the xml file versus which updates were made in the code? For those of us, like me, who have edited our xml file, it would be nice to know what we need to look for to add, subtract, or change in our modified files. If that would be too much extra work, though, don't worry about it. I can always find the changes doing a side-by-side comparison. Or maybe I can find a 'diff' program.

Another tweak has been added:
* Tweak - The on field / play result player photos are now scaled down by 25%. Some users felt they tended to look a little too big

I can't wait for this one so that I can complain that they are too small! [:D] I'm such a sucker for eye candy.

Hi! Did you see my post in regards to the Expanded Team Results not working after a season starts?

RE: 1.76 Progress report
In case this issue got lost in the shuffle: pitchers are still getting too many Earned Runs, which inflates their ERA. Runners that reach base due to errors, and then subsequently score, are being counted as Earned when they should be Unearned.

RE: 1.76 Progress report
Has the historical position issue been resolved where all outfielders were being imported as RF's? The temporary fix uses an older lahman database, but then you can't import 2008 season.

Wouldn't that be this item?

RE: 1.76 Progress report
I also noticed that there are still 'ghost' errors in the game during play and reported in the Box Score, though not shown in the E column of the Box Score.
Shaun,
Would it be possible to have a list of planned modifications/experiments/fixes that the users could use as a reference to see if something is on it? We could then submit things to you to be added and, even if they continue to get overprioritized by other things, we can see that they haven't been forgotten.
If this was my baby now I would be focusing on adding the things that I want to play with as a developer. Did I see somewhere that the logos now support .png files?

If nothing else, at least we know that if you want to replay 1993 you will be good to go! [8D]

Shooting for this weekend, but I can't promise anything for sure.

Cool cool. Thanks for the update. I'm enjoying a couple different associations and one of them has the RF problem. But no biggie. Plenty of sports to watch on TV this weekend.
Looking forward to the update
