The biggest problem I've had with WitP is that once you've played it, going back to something less detailed and historically accurate is hard to do with a straight face. Most WWII 'simulations' tend to be balanced rather than accurate sadly.

That's exactly it...nothing comes close to WITP. I'm a detail freak who really enjoys long campaigns as opposed to what most of the games out there now offer.

Since my original post, you've seen the release of Commander: Napoleon at War, Close Combat: Wacht am Rhein and World War One: La Grande Guerre.

We were hoping War in the Pacific: Admiral's Edition and Crown of Glory: Emperor's Edition would also make it in time for Christmas to put a big finish on the year, but they're still in final testing and polishing, so I'm afraid those will be 1Q 2009 releases at this point.

Our next pre-Christmas release is Hired Guns, which is a great turn-based tactical combat game in the spirit of Jagged Alliance.

We're also finalizing our big Christmas sale plans, so check back before Thanksgiving for news on that.

- Erik

I live in Argassi, Zakynthos (southern most Ionian island). Got a small beach bar there and might have a small bar in Laganas, the big crazy hot spot on the island.

Personally, I'm glad to see the delay for economic reasons. I'm being downsized at the end of this month, and, as heretical as it sounds in this forum, AE falls into the category of non-essential spending. By the end of Q1 I expect I'll be re-employed somewhere (yes, I'm a member of the Optimists -- for real -- but there are other reasons for this bit of optimism).

I know of a lot of people facing this before the new year!
I happen to be a union rep and am trying to sort out the Downsizing at my company at the moment, it may not help much but you are not alone. You have a break now and all the best in the new year.

Made what public? It doesn't exist. It's just a way to get people to buy WITP. It's a stinkin' marketing ploy!!!![:@]
