games does not run on Windows 7 64bit

I have tried several times to get the game running. I have used the digital down. Failed due to virus.

Got the patch. Failed due with mini dump posted elsewhere on forum.

Tried my CD based version. Failed same as above.

Tried to run update. Failed again [&:] Error is 501, Line 12: attempt to concatenate local 'file' (a table value)

I am running Windows 7 fully patched with 8 GB mem, 5770 x2 video card, latest drivers.

This is by far the worst experience I have had with a Matrix game. Any help would be appreciated.
