3.4.0.173 graphics problem

I hve just started trying out the 3.4 beta patch. I'm getting opening screens like this:

The scenarios themselves look the same.
All other video/graphics ( aside from the game ) continues to work normally. Any ideas?

I re-applied the patch and now things are back to normal. Maybe it was something I changed in the "Player" settings. I'll have to record such things in a change log from now on. If it happens again I'll something specific to report. Thanks.
