Really great mod, Mike.
Mike and I have played a few games
of it over at the Wargames Club for Gentlemen.
We have a few guys playing it in the WW1 Tourney.
If you are interested in the mod and want to play
by email with some guys, come join the WGCG.

Is it possible to install this mod in the original game from talonsoft. I have an old pc just to keep some of the old amazing games alive.

Just found this mod and I think it's amazing! I always thought WW1 would be a good topic for this game system and this mod has proven that right. I like how complete it is too, with scenarios from all fronts of the war. I'd love to see it upgraded to the 2.0 system.

Great work!!![&o][&o][&o]

The Campaign Series Great War Mod has been in the public domain for quite some time now and having worked on secondary mods and extra scenarios for it pretty much since it came out I thought this would be a good time to look how down the line, (taking account of the way the Campaign Series has developed during that time) it might be developed into a blown CS game with associated DL content.

Available via the Dropbox link below is a PDF Table suggesting content for a base game and 5 associated DLC modules.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/aik5hrwis1x8n ... s.pdf?dl=0

This is of course very much a maximum spec wish list and the evolution of the CS series over time may of itself require further changes and modifications. My basic idea here is to leaven the step by step extension of coverage of the main great war battle fronts (which are not everybody’s cup of tea) with other theatres and conflicts which would broaden the appeal of the product to a wider audience, particularly those living in those parts of the world (such as Eastern Europe) where some of the less well known conflicts took place.

Obviously its going to be a while before any decisions are made here but it would be interesting to see what others think about this.

Kind regards
Ian

Compared to John Tiller's squad battles - first world war and this, which one should I pick? I find little to no info on either game so some info about scenario numbers, scales and realism would be greatly appreciated!

The WW1 Mod only has a few scenario's, since the group that was working on it kinda went different ways. The original author of the game,Paul Adaway, gave me his blessing to release it, after I spent a few years updating what I could, would love to see some guys make scenario's for it!

Mike,
Great job on the Great War Mod!
I've just downloaded it and experimented with the different aspects of game play (random scenarios, campaigns, etc.) and discovered that you can't get any
snow terrain on any type game for the winter months! Is this by design? It seems not because all the snow graphics are in the mod just as they are in East
front, Westfront and Rising Sun... any thoughts?

For those interested, I have created some updated graphics (Icons, pics & such) for the WW I MOD.
I think they are more realistic and more "cleaned-up" for the game. Just open the file folder and convert all files
from .jpg to .bmp with any art program and drop them into the WW I Folder.
...and Enjoy!

Here's a WW I scenario for the Mod; called "Der Stoßtrupp". It's a nighttime infiltration type action
dealing with German stormgroups trying to silence a 370mm French mortar position on the western front.
I've tested it out and it works as a H2H or German manual control game._Enjoy...
