Monty commits his tanks in his first Army sized battle and wins the day. I don’t understand why Wavell did not do the same when he had motorized infantry to go in with his tanks.

Do the Free French have a land unit anywhere? Would be the ideal companion piece for a Dieppe+ operation.

Wavell's command has been in panic ever since the "Inchon" type amphibious operation pulled off by a SINGLE corps at +10 A succeeded and resulted in the loss of Port Said, Alexandria and the Suez Canal. To really make matters worse was that the axis got two impulses in a row (last and first of consecutive turns) just after this successful high-risk amphibious invasion. This all but closed the door on Wavell and his 8th army not to mention the loss of the Suez Canal.

Wavell has been promised RN and RAF support if he can recaptured Alexandria and reopen supply through the Red Sea. A long shot indeed but the only one he has. That are his orders. There was some talk about a rescue operation that could potentially have saved Wavell and his tank; however that operation was scrapped as being too risky. That is, the risk to the naval assets required far outweighed saving Wavell's HQ-A. For now he and his 8th army are on their own.

There are two Free French land units in Syria. But like Wavell's 8th army they're trapped and aren't expected to hold out.

Was just wondering why Wavell didn’t call a Blitz combat when the MOT was available to take a loss. A lot of upside for Blitz table results right there.

A French land unit (but not a Syrian unit) can debark onto a French PART unit.

Axis sure ran out of luck points that turn though. Fascinating game you have going, carry on.
