Hot Patches help nedeed

Post by werwolf »

I recently bought this game and I need help how to proceed with the updates. In fact I have seen there is avaliable two Hot Patches:
a) Public Beta 04.02.00.00;
b) HotPatch version 04.02.01.02.

So because I am not so skilful witc PC I kindly ask:
a) how to install the Public Beta 04.02.00.00
and later
b) what to do with the HotPatch version 04.02.01.02. For this I have noted that in Dropbox there is a MWIF.exe file ready to download that leads to a zipped folder (MWIF 04 02 01 02.zip). Now what should I have to do with this folder? Should I unzipped the content and paste it somewhere? Or should I have to paste it inside one of the several folders present in the game? But which? (see picture)

Thank you so very much

I would copy the whole World in Flames folder somewhere else so you have a spare copy of the game at the current version you have loaded now, keep it as your master copy.

The [PC] Beta Update v04.02.00.00 is not a full version of the game, it needs a lot of the parts from the full install you have in your "Matrix Games > World in Flames" folder. After you download the Beta Update v04.02.00.00 you should be able to run it and it should detect this folder and update to Beta v04.02.00.00

The 2 hot patches are installed by just swapping out the original EXE file and replacing with the Hot patch EXE file. You don't need to bother with the first hot patch 04 02 01 01 just grab the 04 02 01 02 hot patch and swap that in. I tend to rename my EXE files so I can always roll back to a previous version as shown.
