When the Axis goes all in on Russia you must invade France in 1943. You've been handicapping yourself.
Yes precisely, this is where the game inbalance is. German huge manpower allows them to create several infantry corps while Soviet manpower and production don't allow them to produce more needed rifle armies. This is the goal of my demonstration.
If this is the typical scenario of World in Flames, I am glad its UI is so messy that I have never played it.

I stopped playing WiF a while ago. I always considered the system very inequal (good for some things, very bad for others). I preferred the ETO system, more balance across subrules (combat, logistics etc.) and with nice fluid results (especially the different attack phases allowing for nice armor warfare).
Overall I agree with ncc1701e general conclusion. The game would probably gain from rebalancing the MP. Either more for Soviets or less for Germany.
PS: Even UK should probably suffer at little for MP, which they never do.

Absolutely +1 for UK manpower that is too good too now that repairing planes does not need manpower.
Which ETO system are you speaking of?

ETO/PTO was too slow. Naval battles took an eternity. Too many air counters. A lot of rules that were very specific. The system didn't flow. WiF is more complex but the rules flow pretty well so it was fairly easy to pick up. Just don't play with Leaders in Flames or you will flip the table.
If everyone feels German manpower is an issue I can adjust it next patch. Originally they lost too much manpower.

My best opponents never let up pressure in the West. I suppose figuring out the best way to keep pressure in the West takes a little bit of calculation. At my best Axis(most best opponents went in '45 too) 1 Berlin stood till the last turn the other it fell. When I was playing regularly!
August 1943 - two tank corps have been destroyed. This is starting well...

The USSR units are lacking some attack factors. Even on this 4-10 mechanized units, I can only achieve a 2-1 ratio.

My losses are still high. And my manpower is down to 38%.

End of August 1943 - two armies are encircled south of Leningrad. With again a 2-1 ratio for Soviet attacks, impossible to do something without taking huge losses. Also, it won't improve my manpower clearly.

You could make a surprise landing somewhere else just before the winter sets in so you get another foothold in France. Assuming he isn't super well defended.
