RE: Battle of Burmav7: Scenario's End

I have a couple of new Ai scriptws in development but they are on hold until I get Niks 42 campaign done

main issue is an allied player will not allow himself to be retreated in detail - I actually think the scenario plays out pretty well if the Allies concentrate forces at a sensible point 5 Japanese Regts are not enough

Only by getting most of their forces defeated to far forward and not concentrating did the allies make it easy for japan.

Been reading Pheonix from the flames the story of the rebuilding of the Indian Army and its pretty clear from that individual Bns fought well in 42 it was simply they were put in impossible positions by high command

Wavell was out of touch and didnt understand the realities of the situation of his forces
Hutton had to much on his plate as defact military governor and trying to play Corps and Army commander
Smythe was old and being ignored by his superiors

Basically it was poor command and control, a grave misunderstanding of the forces available and mistakes as to where to defend that caused the defeat before all the forces were released from malaya (Burma IMO would have still fallen absent 18th Brit and 1 of the Aussie Divs going to that theatre)

An interesting what if would have been if 18th Brit, 44th and 45th Indian Bdes and 6th/7th Aus Divs were sent to Burma - would Burma have fallen ??

I dont know it would certainly have derailed the Japanese offensives elsewhere without materially shortening the loss of Singapore
