1000 Mile War Scenario, Nemo (A) vs 1EyedJacks (J)
This is a video AAR of a PBEM of the 1000 Mile War Scenario.
Editing is minimal and familiarity with the UI and mechanics are also low after 10+ years away from WiTP but I assume it is like riding a bike.
Sound is ropey at first but should improve as I switch to a boom stand etc.
Hmm, anyone know how to link directly to a Youtube video so the thumbnail shows in the body of a post? It won't work for me.

Welcome back.
Please be aware that things have changed for you from the updates. I bought the game with the 1126a/b updates already out.

Thanks. Yes, I can see that a lot of things have changed but that's good. Time to adapt and overcome

I have been rereading the Greyjoy AAR when he went against Rader. That is the AAR that convinced me to buy this game. It was a big leap from PacWar to this but it was worth every penny. In fact, the reason why I found Matrix was I was looking for a free PacWar download. It helped me when I was in a nursing home and then assisted living, what a way for therapy!

Re: 1000 Mile War Scenario, Nemo (A) vs 1EyedJacks (J)
I will add my welcome back to RJ's! Your incisive analysis of game situations has been missed.
Another thing that has changed is that Matrix has taken a hard stand against name-callers and negative Nellies who made the Forum testy for new players. Our Guru Alfred could not live with those rules so he has not joined this version of the Forum.
And if you have not already seen the posts a new version of the game (1127Beta) with some database corrections and tweaking of the game engine is due out any day now. The map had a few changes and fixes and the manual has been re-written to be much more explanatory for new players. It will not greatly affect the smaller Scenarios.
Can't help with the YouTube thumbnails question. Some of our Forumites are posting their AARs as videos on Discord. See Banana Convention's AAR :

Well, the Australian Beauties thread that lasted so long in the General Forum is no more because of the pictures that were posted. As far as I know, one individual complained.

Nice to see my favorite Irish psychiatrist back on the forum.
Please kick the butt of Mike B as he is my Japanese opponent in a full campaign game that has just reaching mid-Jan '42. If he is not flipping our turns fast enough, I know who to blame.

Hi Nemo, welcome back. Hope you can talk Greyjoy and Rader into coming back to game. I am now posting onto a video also. I am trying to help this game see more new players by doing so. I will edit this post to answer your original question after I post a new video. FYI, I am into june44 with john3rd. It is a 2 hour replay, I think too boring for new players to follow on video plus I have a hard time (or barely figuring it out) with my clip editor. So I am just posting a 10 minute verbal recaps from around our map.

I will edit this post to answer your original question after I post a new video. edit: In the create video section of your you tube channel is a request for thumbnails to post. You can make your own as the replay unfolds then post the most important of that days events by just doing a screenshot then upload. I noted the you tube clip editor ask for input of specific clips you can also use.

Yes, I am serious. I only saw one complaint on the board. Of course, having someone post a scanty picture of themself and who flipped the Bird to Eric did not help things either.

Re: 1000 Mile War Scenario, Nemo (A) vs 1EyedJacks (J)
Rangerjoe, well, it sounds like they're trying to be more corporate and widely acceptable... and it is their playground after all. To be fair, even I had heard rumblings of discontent about some picture posting here and I hadn't been here in years so I don't think it was just one person who was disquieted.
ny59giants. Hi, well we are flipping about 5 turns a day but they're really quick turns, probably equivalent to a single turn of a full game.
bigred, I use filmora. It is quite intuitive and better than other video editors I've used for adding some simple effects and making simple cuts, which is all a WITP video AAR really needs IMO. People aren't going to watch them for the bling.
21st April 1943:
Aggressive patrolling of the SLOCs as well as offensive ASW patrols into the area around Kiska Island net an additional two IJN subs today. Only midget subs but every submarine sunk counts.

22nd April 1943: Today the support echelon of the USN reaches Adak Island ( AEs, AOs, ADs, AS ) allowing me to base my SC TFs much closer to Kiska and Attu for the next round of combat.
They'll be intensely vulnerable to bombardments and his carriers if they come calling but until they do this will greatly increase the USN combat potential around Kiska and Attu Islands.
