Strategic Command WWII: War in Europe reveals a full set of screenshots!

Fury Games has now signed with Matrix Games, and we are working together on the next Strategic Command. Will use the Slitherine PBEM++ server for asynchronous multi-player.

Thanks for the feedback and positive comments everyone [:)]

It has been a long road for us but we are very happy to be nearing the end. We'll have much more material to share with you over the next little while including some of the new features and game mechanics, as well as all the AI improvements and enhancements.

We think everyone will be pleasantly surprised by just how much the game series has improved and what it will have to offer for new and old players alike!

NO TILES - YAY !! [&o]

Roads look like a two year old drew them. Very unprofessional.

Look closely: There is usually a rail and a road alongside each other. The actual road looks very good. So does the railroad. If you don't notice that they're alongside each other, it would look poorly drawn. I made the same mistake at first glance.

Thanks for pointing this out. Looking at shot #2 [the one with Italy], the difference can easily be seen. In Albania and part of Greece there is only the road and it looks ok, but adding the rail to the same hex makes it 'look poorly drawn'. However, I notice in the SC2 files that I have, the graphic can be user modified, so maybe this is something that can be changed to suit after SC3 is released.

@ Xwormwood

Hi, not sure what you mean. The screenshots here are the same uploaded on the product page. Do they appear different to you?

comparisons are hard to do her for me as it's only a 200k limit

but have downloaded and copied to main to see what's the difference, tbh i can't tell any either

There is a big difference tbh.
Take the picture with Italy on it for example.

I like the look of the game and am looking forward to playing it. The weather overlay is nice but I would make the weather appear over water hexes as well, that would make it look a bit more consistent, now it looks a bit strange that is doesn't rain of snow on the ocean.

I like the interface along the bottom of the map, looks great. The map itself seems a little dull perhaps, but I'll wait and see what the finished product looks like. Besides the game is the thing, not too concerned about it's looks.
Thanks for the feedback. The map is intentionally quite simple in look so that units pop out from the background and can be easily spotted. If we add detail to the terrain it tends to make things harder to see so its a balance between looks and playability.

While it is true that allowances have to be made for translating those particular landmasses to a hex field, my sense is that the mistake your cartographer made was to try to fit the drawing of the coastlines to which hexes were land and which were sea, rather than the other way around. Apulia and Calabria don't look like that, and Sicily doesn't either.

Thanks for the feedback. Sometimes it is tricky to make hexes match real land masses. Sometimes features have to be reduced or expanded to achieve specific gameplay rolls as well, though the team can comment on that. One advantage of the hex system though rather than a hand drawn map is anyone can edit the map and make the changes they prefer.

The ones from forum are slightly better, i've download first the ones from the product page and later the ones from the forum, and that not because I collect picture, but because I found out about the difference.

Looks nice

Count me in

however, could I be reassured about stacking? Considering the size of the hexes, having a unit of V-1 rockets occupy the whole space ( or an air unit, or artillery, etc...) is going to be problematic to say the least...

Looking good - but hopefully there is a more pronounced hex grid overlay option?

Also would hope for an alternative NATO counter setup - perhaps similar to TOAW.

As an older player - I can feel the approaching eye strain with the current set.

Thanks for the preview.

Don't worry Don, the NATO symbols have always been an option for all SC releases.

Thanks James - yep - I had the previous version - but in this case, I was hoping this new version would have an alternate NATO counter style where the markings were a little bolder and larger. Currently they

appear a bit small / faint for aging eyes.

Also - a stronger hex grid would be nice.
