The Pied Piper

Post by evaamo2 »

I finished playing the scenario called The Pied Piper and I had quite some fun.

In the end, I got a 74% Tactical Victory as NATO.

One of the things that I found interesting is that I played a very conservative defense, trying to set up mixed Panzer Grenadier + Leopard echelons in case of being overrun by the Soviet advance, and after the time was up, I noticed the Soviets (AI controlled) were being conservative of their own forces as well.

There was an important number of T-80 regiments that were not committed to the main offensive. I believe in this scenario, going beyond the Victory Timer would have changed the outcome, as I would have been forced to retake the bridges held by my opponent, and I would have sustained many more losses than I actually did.

I will retry this scenario later on during the weekend, and I'll force myself to be more aggressive.
On the other hand, the Mechanized Rifle Regiments were slaughtered! I lost 4 Leopards and an MG.

It was great and I could feel the tension building up when first contact was made! To reiterate my posts from the last few days: the game is solid, fun and immersive.

evaamo2,

Do you have any save games from mid to late in this scenario? They would be in the FPRS/Saved Folder. We have seen a few odd cases of the Soviets going defensive like this and we want to track what is causing that.

Thanks.

Hi, here's the only one I found... if I recall correctly this is mid term, before the action began.
