Disabling ships

Post by Arturo28 »

Hello,

I am trying to disable ships in order to analyza them and get new technologies, but my ships don't stop firing at it until destroying the ship.

I don't know the way to tell them to stop!!

Is there some way of doing that or only through boarding pods.

Thanks

As far as I know, you can only board and capture with Boarding Pods tech researched and equipped on ships in the attacking group.

I'd also check your empire policies screen (top bar, third button from the left, located in between the game editor and expansion planner buttons) and move to the bottom. There should be a bunch of settings on ship and base boarding and capture.

If you don't want to set it to always capture ships (I usually do until around 2130) you can pause and use ctrl-rightclick to bring up the menu actions and select "Capture <ship/base name>".

In either of these cases, the ships will attack until the shields are sufficiently dropped to board, then break off until the boarding party is successful or defeated. Keep in mind that the enemy ship or base can continue to fire at you while they're being raided.
