<detail>The Belgian Air Force is now eagerly awaiting the arrival of its new capacity of remotely piloted aircraft, General Atomics’ MQ-9B SkyGuardian. In 1998, the Belgian Air Component purchased three B-Hunter UAV-systems, each consisting of six aircraft and two ground control stations. The drones were operational from 2004 in 80 UAV Squadron. Thirteen 13 aircraft were in service until recently.

Two weeks ago, General Atomics was awarded $189 million Belgium MQ-9B SkyGuardian procurement. This contract provides for four MQ-9B unmanned air vehicles, two Certifiable Ground Control Stations, spares and support equipment. It covers design, development, integration and production of the RPAS with its EO/IR video and SAR/GMTI surveillance payloads. The first delivery is scheduled for 2023.</detail>

<detail>In a LinkedIn post, Colonel Tim Bailey, the F-16 Systems Program Manager, stated that over 200 Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard Vipers can now carry the advanced radar system. This gives these F-16s a massive leap in all-weather precision engagement and surveillance capability that can be efficiently bolted on and off the aircraft as the mission dictates.

While some of the Air Force's Vipers are getting AN/APG-83 AESA radars, also known as the Scalable Agile Beam Radar (SABR), to replace their mechanically scanned AN/APG-68 radar sets, which will bring fantastic new capabilities to this middle-aged fighter jet force, the Dragon's Eye pod offers plenty of capabilities for those jets that don't get the new radar sets.

It offers additional capabilities that are not perfectly replicated by the AN/APG-83, as well. This includes being optimized for side-scanning and certain ground and surface surveillance and targeting modes. In fact, an F-16 with the new SABR in its nose and a Dragon's Eye pod on its centerline would be an amazingly capable combination, but it will be even more essential for those jets that don't have or are not slated to get a built-in AESA radar.

Aside from the F-16, we know that the AN/ASQ-236 has been flown on AC-130 gunships and B-52s for testing purposes. It isn't clear if either of those types will actually field the pod operationally. </detail>

<detail>The primary sensor of the GlobalEye is its Erieye ER airborne early warning (AEW) radar; weighing approximately 1 tonne, it is mounted atop the twinjet's fuselage. Saab has cited up to 450 km (216 nm) range for the AEW radar system when flown at an operating altitude of 30,000ft; in comparison with earlier versions of the Erieye radar, Saab claims it has achieved a 70% increase in detection range, achieved via the use of new technology, such as gallium nitride transmit/receive modules. According to Saab Group, the GlobalEye is capable of detecting and tracking a combination of airborne and surface targets, the latter on both land and sea, while mission times of up to eleven hours in duration are possible. The 450km range of the radar is line of sight and is limited to 450km because of the shape of the earth, the instrumental range is actually 550km.

In addition to the AEW radar, the GlobalEye is equipped with various additional sensors. These include the Seaspray 7500E maritime surveillance radar, provided by Italian defence conglomerate Leonardo; the Seaspray radar features synthetic-aperture radar and ground-oriented moving target indication modes.[6] The GlobalEye also has an electro-optical/infrared sensor, which is situated underneath the forward fuselage. Other mission equipment includes data links, voice and satellite communications and a command and control suite, the latter comprising five onboard operator stations.

The GlobalEye can be operated without any onboard operators, streaming its surveillance output to ground-based stations instead. According to Saab, the GlobalEye can simultaneously perform airborne, maritime and ground surveillance duties. It has been offered with three layers of capability: the baseline AESA and C2 system for air, land and sea surveillance, along with some electronic intelligence functions; a version with additional infrared and sea-search functionality; and one with a dedicated signals intelligence (SIGINT) system.[

During November 2015, the United Arab Emirates ordered the system, which it refers to as the Swing Role Surveillance System (SRSS), as part of a US$1.27 billion deal.[16][17] During February 2017, the UAE exercised an option to procure an additional third GlobalEye in a deal worth US$238 million.[18][19] According to UAE air force chief Ibrahim Naser Al Alawi, the GlobalEye should be a "strong force multiplier...an early warning radar which is capable also of detecting ballistic missiles, and to cover the whole domain as an air power".[6] By May 2019, lead elements, including ground control stations, had been delivered to the UAE.[12] The UAE took delivery of its first Globaleye as per schedule on 28 April 2020.

I noticed a ships upgrade of two 'Van Speijk' class frigates of the Royal Netherlands Navy that have not been implemented in the database.
Those two ships were fitted with TACTAS towed array SONAR and a masking device (to reduce cavitating of the propellors.
HrMs Evertsen was outfitted likewise in 1988 (page is from Janes Fighting Ships 1986/87)
The VDS was deactivated and only used as mounting point for the towed array to keep it on the right depth and stabile.
