Back to the eastern front

Post by STEF78 »

After 2 years of break, I finally bought WITE2.

I hope I will enjoy it as much as WITE1. i spent roughly 5 000 hours and played more than 25 campaigns.

Some advices please?

Which scenario should I use to begin. Main changes versus WITE1? (I bought WitW, played some hours, but didn't enjoy it)

Really happy to be back!

OMG! OMG! OMG! Welcome back Stef78!!!! I missed you greatly!

Underlying undertones of WITE1 is in the majority of the game. You have some unlearning to do but very doable. Once you have the time spend a great deal on the Air war to get that under wraps. As for a scenario you know I never play them so someone better than I can answer that since I always jump head first into the campaign ;-)

Thanks for the answers

I've played the tutorial and won against AI but too easily (26.3to 1)

Lots of things are looking very familiar. Ground fights work the same way, russian offensive Ai works as usual... raw force only.

I've played depots automatically and didn't well understood how air war is managed. And I didn't succceed to merge units.

I will jump into the campaign against AI, WITE2 is looking nice!

good to see you again [;)]

even knowing WiTE1 its worth playing Velikie-Luki and the 3 June 1941 scenarios, even if just to make mistakes without investing a massive amount of time.

The player's notes in the Manual try to cover some of the main differences, the pinned showcase threads supplement that

Probably the most important thing to know is how to efficiently regain CPP. I saw many WITE1 players making the mistake of advancing every single unit like they used to and as a result their units have like 0 CPP. Once you get the hang of that and the air war plus a lot of the other changes, your experience should come flooding back to you in a good way.

Yes, the most important thing in WITE2 is learn how to manage CPP. If you've watched Strategy Gaming Dojo's slow motion disaster on YouTube, a lot of his issues are that he is playing without any regard to CPP.

I read the rules concerning CPP. It's a major change.

Yes, you'll need to learn to rotate out and rest units to gain back CPP. Preferably on a rail, with a HQ, set to refit and not adjacent to any enemy units. Its a "skill" or "art" similar to how to setup your Depots and supply prioroties. Its something that comes with practice's of playing the game.
