Soviet AT not being built

Post by jubjub »

Just noticed that my f-22 and zis AT guns haven't been getting produced for awhile.

F-22 is no longer produced, because you are supposed to switch to ZiS AT guns. They are converted from ZiS artillery. Which is usually in a deficit, so the conversion barely ever happens.

Complained about that here: https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/view ... 8#p5042678

By late May 42 (so almost three months after the ZiS is introduced?) we have a grand total on ten (10) guns out of potential 600-ish.

My suggestion would be to add a toggle to elements that are converted from other elements. If the toggle is on, the converted unit is prioritised for upgrade over the distribution of its parent unit.

Not sure how you determined that they are converted from zis-3 artillery. Seems like they are separate production lines.

Also, there should’ve been like 2000 f-22 guns produced before it stopped production.

no, the at versions are imported from the field guns. if there's none in active pool at the time the function looks for them there's no production.
we should investigate this for a possible change

Because they are produced on the Upgrade screen, not the Production one, and the Upgrade screen shows the chassis/airframe/weapon that was upgraded to something else.

So the thing is, how many Zis artillery do you have in your transit pool, ie, not available for conversion to AT role? As of mid July 1942 I have about 1400 guns in transit and about 10 Zis AT produced. A portion of the artillery production seems to go stright into transit and just swirls around there forever.

The units are constantly swapping the guns for other available guns of the same type while some units then get upgraded to newer guns but do not get enough of them so back to the start of this sentence.
The recovery from transit pool seems too low to cope with this and the swap function seems too agressive.
