Looks Like the original

I just bought Distant Worlds 2 and am very glad that it looks a lot like the original game I enjoyed but with better graphics and other improvements. It looks like the basic premise of the original was carried forward with the same races. I'm so glad to finally have this game after the massive disappointment with Stellaris. Looking forward to playing after reading through the manual, galactopedia and tours.

Yeah, when they unveiled the first details a few years ago, it was a huge relief to me that they hadn't stripped any of the complexity or detail that made the original game unique.

The more I read the manual and galactopedia the more I felt this was a continuation of the original game, so many functions seemed familiar. One thing I like is that now that I'm done reading I can now set everything to automated and kill all messages and just enjoy letting clock run while I get to watch how things progress. I always loved old style games where I could let the computer play each side and just watch to see how the game worked while I read the physical manual. Now have to read the in-game manual and stuff so have to wait to get the reading done before getting to enjoy the show.
