RE: Windows 10 doesnt work

Didn't see that section in Matrix, thanks. I will try this and move my game back to my main PC.

I thought about what the issue might be. I have 2 monitors.

I put the game in a VMWare virtual machine and it works just fine in full screen.

Windows 10 doesnt work

Just bought the game and installed it. Can't communicate with update server. V3.00

I get "Error: Display Does Not Support 1024x768

It's sat here for 5m now on the loading screen.

How can I fix this?

RE: When?

<t> I said it when the project first started, A.I. for WIF on a large scale is at this time impossible. The best you can hope for is tiny scenarios with limited pieces, no production, to teach naval, land, or air combat in a fixed environment. Once computers become self aware then an A.I. for WIF wi...

RE: When?

well I would make as many things optional as possible because WIF is very exploitive. Like letting all units breakdown into infinite divs is a problem IMO. I have already thought of creative ways to exploit that vs an opponent.

RE: When?

You all worry too much. The game will come out eventually. You just need patience. So what if the board game is on "Super Deluxe Master Edition III (with 3d counters)" version by the time the computer regular WIF comes out.

Sorry couldnt help myself.

RE: Just bought it and yes its a winner!

How does it compare to old school Pacific War. I still love that version. A hex version would be nice.

The new Pac War is simply too much. I don't care if Tom Adams bailed out of his F4F was captured by the Japanese and tortured for information kind of details.

1 programmer. That sums it up. He has help from Beta Testers who have assisted over the years. Quite a dedicated group.

1st post I say was July 2005 asking "when".

Go buy Strategic Command 2 and play that till WIF comes out.

RE: Other strategy games

If the makers of HOI were smart they would have incorporated a turn based system in their game also. Something that goes by 1 week then stops the game or 2 weeks or whatever.

<t> Shannon you really need other people to work in this project with you. Its too large for one programmer to keep up with the latest hardware and software improvements. So far from what Ive seen you have done an excellent job on your own. I hope you at least have a graphic artist and usability des...

RE: Other strategy games

<t> OMG yes. If HOI was turn based I would looooove it. But real time trying to do the world is just rediculous. Games with too much detail that doesnt do a lot of things automatically are simply unplayable except for those who have all the time in the world and are dedicated. When I bought War in t...

RE: Advanced Third Reich/ World at War

<t> Most WIF games I played a shift in win % can usually be attributed to 1-2 summer turns either ending early or some weirdo weather pattern. It didnt say it determines the game, it just has a serious impact. And for some weird reason it doesnt even out.<br/> <br/> Like if a game looks as if the ax...

Strategic Command 2 from www.battlefront.com

Id say right now this is the best WW2 grand strategy out there. Their editor is 2nd to none. I made my own WIF scale scenarios with AI.

<t> How it plays and the learning curve are two completely different things.<br/> <br/> A3R/RS = Chess because the dice rolls are minor and movement and positioning is key<br/> WIF = Blackjack because there is lots of randomness and things can go one way one turn and turn around the next when you do...
