Very simple question

I know this is totally in RTFM territory and I apologize, but how in the world do you exit out of a game? I hit escape and it minimizes the game to Windows. I don't see anywhere on the UI a menu button for that sort of thing. Am I missing something totally obvious?

RE: How to download the latest beta build

OH boy, FTP clients. That brings back memories. Are those still a thing? I haven't used one since I was in university back in '99-02.
Going to try downloading through the browser first. Hopefully it works out OK.

RE: Close Combat - The Bloody First, dates update

Glad to hear that there is progress being made. What other games have used the Archon engine? Are they representative of what we might eventually see from CC or completely different?

Oops?

<t> I wonder if Matrix/Slitherine may have made a misstep when they re-released this game as a "free" version as it has really hit the review scores pretty hard. Basically, any whiny crybaby can now download the game and write a negative review because they only got 8 scenarios for free rather than ...

I thought you needed to wait for the iPad version? That doesn't seem to be released yet.

RE: Mac OS still a barren wasteland for (war)gaming?

<t> Thanks for the advice. I had hoped that parallels would circumvent the need to acquire a new copy of Windows and the hard drive space required. What exactly is the advantage over boot camp then. I'm actually not a big fan of Apple but I guess the hype must be filtering through as I thought it wo...

Mac OS still a barren wasteland for (war)gaming?

<t> I'm seriously thinking of making the switch to a Mac notebook the next time I get a new computer (Air or Pro). One thing I'm a little concerned about is the lack of games that will run on the system. I know the big ones are there but I'm more concerned about games like Panzer Corps or Commander:...

RE: The Good Health of the Wargaming Niche

<t> I look forward to Matrix's new sales campaign and I will reward them with my dollars assuming that I see the games that I want at the prices that I want. The fact that the OP uses "niche" in the title tells me just how much Matrix has no idea. If wargames are a niche then they're a niche because...

RE: The perfect Easter Egg for a wargamer! Up to 50% off…. everything!

<r> <QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>ORIGINAL: rogo727<br/> Well I can just say how disappointed I am. Really now??!!! Only one egg at higher discounts per game??!!??!!??!! Offer it all to everyone. Simply wow. Again I suggest you hire someone with retail experience. I looked at least ten games with no "eggs". ...

How to read the counters?

<t> I couldn't find anything about this in the manual. I'm having trouble digesting all the numbers on the chits. I think I've managed to figure some of them out by comparing with the unit stats panel.<br/> Bottom left is soft and hard attack, bottom right is regular and flank defense, top right is....

<t> Ok I went back and tried it and things went fine once I was able to escape to choose another unit. I think I'll try persistent APs next time.<br/> Very good game but I'm not going to bite at $30. RE: I can't buy this!

<t> Thanks for the responses guys. I will start another game and make sure that persistent AP's are checked. I didn't select Classic so that must be the default option. Strange that it isn't that way in the tutorial. As for my resolution, I run 1366x768 which is a pretty common resolution for laptop...

I can't buy this!

<r> I'm intrigued by this game but there seem to be some fairly important problems that are holding it back at least as far as I can see in the demo. One of them is definitely not my fault and one of them could be because I haven't fully learned how the game works yet.<br/> First, what's up with dif...

RE: an issue and a suggestion

I'm having the same problem with the tutorial where the tutorial card is cut off half way down and there seems to be no way to scroll or move the tutorial box up so that I can see the rest of the text. What is up with that? I also have 1366x768 screen.
