Which HQ are they attached to? They should be attached to the HQ of the troops doing the attacking, most likely AG South.

RE: Sapper Battalion Upgrade to Regiments?

<t> An easy way to answer this question is to check the upgrade path in the TOE screen.<br/> <br/> Select TOE xx/xx. Then look to see if there is an upgrade listed at the bottom of the TOE screen (Show next TOE(OB)). If there is, then select this to see what the upgrade is. If it does not show up th...

RE: Soviet Turn 147

<t> My diagnosis of the German problem here is that they seem to have everything on the front line, trying to create the largest CV possible on the front while leaving nothing in reserve. They also have almost no entrenchments leading to higher casualties for themselves and fewer casualties for the ...

<t> Although the game progresses (We are at turn 95 now) I am reluctant to report on my current situation except to say that we are now on the strategic defensive. I believe you could either turn off move animations, or reduce the speed of the animation. Look under preferences for these options.

Turn 64: new pockets

<r> Sept. 3, 1942<br/> <br/> Somewhat surprisingly, I was able to form the Vyazma/Rzhev pocket after all. It is only 8 rifle divisions and two tank brigades. Still, losing 8 divisions is going to sting. Plus, three more rifle divisions were isolated to the east south of Murom. In total, the Soviets ...

RE: Thoughts on Soviet Organization in 1942: The Soviet Side of CapandGown's German mirror match

<t> I guess I wasn't clear. Here is a more complete process for making rifle corps on the cheap(er).<br/> <br/> When these destroyed divisions come back they will be at 20% max TOE and assigned to Stavka. Leave them at 20% max and assigned to Stavka. They then sit in the rear training. When their mo...

RE: Thoughts on Soviet Organization in 1942: The Soviet Side of CapandGown's German mirror match

<r> <QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>ORIGINAL: JoeLewis<br/> <br/> I am going to have to start building rifle brigades throughout the fall and winter so that the army can transition to rifle corps in 1943. I just don't think the 3 division rifle corps is very efficient and wastes a lot of manpower. Of course, b...

RE: Thoughts on Soviet Organization in 1942: The Soviet Side of CapandGown's German mirror match

<t> Some responses from your esteemed opponent:<br/> <br/> post #3<br/> 1) Moscow was not evac'ed because it didn't need to be. The Germans got no closer to Moscow than the Volga east of Rzhev. They then backed off into their winter quarters. This left plenty of time to evac those factories should t...

Turn 63: a new offensive

<r> Aug. 27, 1942<br/> <br/> Now that I have launched a new offensive I can talk more openly about the progress of this game. RE: Soviet Turn 121

Finally some encirclements. Unfortunately, even though there is mud coming up, he will get a clear turn before you do meaning he may be able to launch a relief attack. Unless, of course, you can take them out during the mud, though that could prove difficult.
