Re: Only 1 convoy at a time?

I reconquered Rangoon, so the US-> China convoy opened back up in the port. But the US -> Aust convoy completely disappeared. Was this supposed to happen? Majors can only do one convoy at a time? Yeah, that had been a restriction for the SC series for a long time. WWI suffers from a similar problem...

Re: How to deal with tanks?

So it seems artillery is actually pretty good against them, as they them/inflict damage directly. Also, well prepped infantry (supplied + trenched + hi morale) also makes them sweat. I didn't try ground attack planes but I suspect it could be useful too. Yeah, ground attack planes can definitely be...

Re: Does Japan have a fighting chance?

Play close attention to the Victory Conditions, doing so is the key to a Japanese victory. Yeah, those victory conditions are key for Japan, but at the same time at least the 1943 conditions feel very stinted: You need at least three of the following - Batavia - Manila - Canberra - Calcutta - Chong...

Re: Things you wish you knew before your first duels in SCWW2 Pacific

Hi, one thing, that I encountered... "Bombers in Midway/Guadalcanal/Saint Cristobal etc. disript supply" actually means MARTIME BOMBER, medium bomber in the location does not provide this effect. Also Manchuria thing...you can replace Japanese Armies with garrison units. I thoght the idea...

Re: Things you wish you knew before your first duels in SCWW2 Pacific

How paratroopers work, namely by going to "Set mode" and then Prepare. No cost (except for landing casualties maybe) and you can absolutely wreak havoc on rear areas, especially in sparser theaters like India Also how to enable tooltips like the "having bombers in Midway destroys supp...

Re: What is the point of the arctic?

You basically have to constantly bomb or bombard the resource to knock the number to zero. Yeah, that is a problem, although you can also trap the unit by setting two naval units on the ports and having supply deplete that way I can see your perspective about historical WWII, though At the same tim...

American Samoa

When the United States withdraws from the war, it gives up every single Pacific territory except for two: the Aleutians and American Samoa. Sure, the Aleutians makes sense, but having the US retain American Samoa when it gives up Guam, Hawaii, Midway, Wake, and others makes less sense. I'm not sure ...

Re: What is the point of the arctic?

Yeah, I get that it might be good for invading Sakhalin or Hokkaido, but there is a problem: there are only three, or four if you count Adak, hexes from which you can launch your invasion from. This isn't as good as invading from China or the Philippines, or, given that for some reason you do not ha...

What is the point of the arctic?

I mean, of course, in real life, it goes without saying that the Arctic was a pretty important theater; it was the shortest route from the US to Japan, and both the US and Japan poured considerable resources into pushing each other out of it, as well as building innumerable fortifications and airbas...

Re: A better Malaya strategy (and other tidbids)

Speaking of Fuzhou, yes, this is another example of this strategy, as Fuzhou can be easily isolated just by garrisoning the neighboring cities. However, there is a trick; you can send the Fuzhou army to the Philippines, where the US direly needs someone to replace the North Luzon corps. It's a darin...

A better Malaya strategy (and other tidbids)

The thing about most locations in the game is that ultimately they are irrelevant. And nothing demonstrates this more than the force at Kota Bharu, as it can be easily bypassed and has no intrinsic value of its own (okay, actually, now that I think of it Fuzhou also demonstrates this) There are thre...

Game End Date Extension?

I've just reached November 1918 in a Veteran Ottomans-only game where I managed to defeat Russia and Italy while having Switzerland join the war, leading to a near-encirclement of the remaining French forces in Italy. Although the US did join the war, France had a morale of 19% and Britain 11%, whic...

Hello there MaximKI, I know of a couple of friends who installed through Steam and want to not update to the v.1.00.35 version for whatever reason. Is there a way to do this, and do you find anything wrong with this?

Re: Trapped in Quebec

Also, a sidenote: This was the first time I noticed the blockade runners actually disappear. So I tried capitulating Spain (capitulating France seems almost impossible) in a hotseat, and even though I captured Havana, the blockade runners there reverted to the Confederates instead, also leaving me s...

Trapped in Quebec

So I was playing a game of 1862 Trent War where I did a Canada First strategy, pushing the AI out of Montreal and then taking Kingston, Toronto, and then Ottawa. In my (enormously costly) advance on Ottawa, I tried to screen my rear using gunboats, but they got trapped after the British withdrew. I ...

Central Asia

There is something bothering me about the place, especially in the Russian Civil War scenario. In the current scenario is absolutely nothing interesting about the region except for connecting Guryev to the rail network. Most notably (and most to my horror) the entire Aral Sea is missing (how?!), as ...

RE: Eliminating Montenegro on turn 2

<t> I think you are missing the point of the original strategy, which is to eliminate Montenegro before it can spawn enough forces to cover Serbia's flank. On the first and second turns there are only two detachments to oppose you, but then on the third there is suddenly a corps, which greatly bolst...

<r> Congrats on mauling Russia so badly!<br/> <br/> However, I assume that the troops on the Eastern Front were diverted from the West, giving France breathing room and giving a good chance of turning the war into a stalemate or a slow crawl on that front.
