RE: WOTY Steam Release

Price on Steam is too high. They do not get a printed manual.
I bought it here, did not enjoy, but that's my fault.

Pretty sure Matrix has stated serial numbers are non-transferrable.

Hope I am wrong again.

RE: So is it playable yet?

<t> Without knowing what the contract structures are between developer and publisher, it's hard to see who is more to blame. For a title that generated interest for years on the forums, to me it is a bit of a letdown. Always saw folks asking for progress reports over the years, and sometimes there w...

RE: I'm seriously considering taking the plunge!

<t> I have to agree with Redan, it is a very complex game system for sure, but Matrix QC seems to be slipping these days.<br/> <br/> Have had trouble with 2 of the last 3 titles I purchased. Game system may be great, but implementation is not so great.<br/> <br/> Having developers that support title...

I find that on easiest mode, those partisans sure shoot great. Maybe Russians didn't need regular army [:(]

Hopefully after many more games I will see the fun others are expressing.

<t> Great topic Warspite,<br/> <br/> 1) Both, I have know of WiF for a while, and I enjoy strategy games.<br/> <br/> 2) I think my knowledge level is average-good. RE: O/T The search for the Russian War Dead

Still have a couple of relatives missing from the Eastern Front, but they were fighting on the German side. No idea where they fell, or where their remains lie.
I hope some families can find some peace after all these years.

<t> Unless the Axis can grab lots of resources and oil is the game just a pain in the butt for them ? Looking at the chart in Vol. 1, even if the Axis conquers Russia, unless the US can be kept out of the war it will be very hard to win a battle of attrition ?<br/> Thanks for the help.<br/> <br/> Ha...

Maybe if they said, "no AI" all those years ago, the hype train wouldn't have left the station.

RE: Solitare versus an AI

Some people on this board can read minds and intentions, and if someone prefers to play against an AI ---- CRUCIFY THEM, THEY AREN'T A REAL WARGAMER !!!!
Good way to bring new folks into the fold.

<t> I would prefer any AI versus knowing what I am going to do each turn because I know all the moves I just made as the opposition.<br/> Have played board games solo, sure it's better than not playing, but not much.<br/> Just my opinion, although I have been riding the hype train on this title for ...

Can't finish Shamal

<t> Program does a hard lockup each time I play this scenario, usually after about 4-5 hours of scenario time. <br/> It's annoying, start to really get into the flow of things, take a few targets out, program just goes to (not responding) and it's game over.<br/> Will try to save more often, but not...
