RE: Do SS units exist?

<t> My 2 cents: SS (or any 'elite', 'political', or 'private army') troops were formed at the expense of needed resources. Their combat capacity is (slightly) greater but the extra administration, supply, equipment, training, and other costs make their creation of questionable utility. On a small sc...

RE: Stratrgic Command Beta Test Now Ending

I can't wait...this is a killer WW2 Strategy Game. It "feels" right. Hard to describe, but I know it when I see it. Thanks for letting me in on the beta. Not only will I buy it when released, I have passed the word on it to all the other WW2 Strategy Game junkies I know.[:D]

RE: Axis Submarines

Once I turned FOW back off, the Axis subs on silent (and even on hunt), appear to be better at evasion. TY for the heads up.

Glitch in Libya?

<r> I have run into an odd event. It has happened several times, seemingly semi-random.[&:]<br/> <br/> While moving Italian troops in Libya (pre-Italian DOW), the map shows an overlaid area (see picture). Some times it is just a double exposure, but on 2 occasions, when the screen cleared, 1 or ...

RE: Africa

<r> El Alamein <I><s></s>does<e></e></I> look wide for a chokepoint. Combined with the Allied troops the AI assigns, it makes it tough to rebuff DAK. My experience is the Axis can kick the UK around Egypt and Libya. [:D]<br/> <br/> I'm playing on beginner, which may be why. FOW = ON [:'(]<br/...

RE: Opening Moves

<r> TY for the feedback. I actually like the counters the way they are, particularly since they can be set to say, "Upgrade/ reinforce me!" Great feature![8D]<br/> <br/> The critical unit data is available; more so than many games with lots more script on the actual counters. The counters bring (fon...

RE: 10 Hours Later...

<t> I didn't learn how to force march until the third attempt...NOW I use it. Also the "cruise" feature. Both of these abilities were new concepts. At the time, I was focused on dynamic movement. I actually hard marched all but 3 units from Poland to France. Perhaps that is another reason Case Yello...

RE: NOOB Questions ?

<t> TY. [:)] On question 3, I was just hoping for a way not to leave out a unit when reviewing the turn. I sometimes found I forgot to squeeze every last km out of each division. This is probably why my troops run out of fuel so often! DCB make you think about issues that many games don't bother to ...

Can I Slow It Down?

<t> I have had TAOW on my computer for years, and, all of a sudden, the game (PO, plus the actual moves) goes so fast I can't tell what the other side is doing. Makes it hard to see my moves too. Anything I can do to slow things down??? This just happened all of a sudden, in the middle of a scenario...
