RE: This is amazing

I actually was getting a little bummed about the RtL scenario, because I have lost multiple times to the Soviet AI -on Normal no less. The Soviets are able to form a coherent defense on turn 2, west of Pskov and it can be very punishing trying to penetrate that line.

RE: Sub Feedback Request

My biggest issue is that I have no tools to do any kind of recon whether by land or by sea. Or if there is some recon abilities with my units, I am stumped at how to recognize this.

RE: Strategic Command UI issues and feedback

<r> This may have been brought up before - but the up/down arrows on many of the windows (for example when upgrading a land unit - +1 mobility...) is not very clear and needs too precise of control to increment/decrement the value. A simple icon with '+' or '-' next to the text would make it much mo...

RE: So who's happy with their purchase?

This is an epic game. I have bought and played all of VR's games (except the first DC game) and really like the play mechanics. The game is superb simulating the first phase of the war in Russia, and I really hope that the war can continue with mods from others. ;)

RE: Luck or stupid AI?

<r> I am surprised that 4 Panzergruppe isnt OOS because that truck line from Riga to Narva is about 15 hexes. I think that to maintain the position, either trucks will need to be stripped from other theaters or that the rail repair dudes will need to work overtime (again at the cost of other theater...

RE: Factories in isolation

I know manpower will migrate when isolated (21.1.10.4 Local Manpower Recruitment in Isolated Areas). I cant find the reference in the rules, but I thought I remember reading that as soon as a city was cut from the rail network the factories will no longer be active.

RE: Is AI's war education ended in 1918?

<t> 2x3 should hire Ian Trout to code their AI - they had a knack for stellar AI. Their AI could knock you on your butt for a few turns but then be able to withdraw instead of being over-extended. But, I think the game has too many moving parts and the air war mechanics are overly obfuscated to actu...

RE: UPDATE ON NEW PATCH.

I am getting the 1915 crash as well. It have reloaded the autosave and it re-crashes. It probably has to do with winter effects somehow. I have multiple games up to that point (about ten I would say) and it crashes at the same point every time.

RE: Historical accuracy of Air dropping fuel

<t> There were significant air supply drops in both the west and east theaters throughout the war. I read somewhere that in France, 1940, near Abbeville, the Germans airlifted around 400 tons of fuel in one day. (no source, I forget where I read that.) The effectiveness is arguable, given the stupid...

<t> A simple Google search shows that Pelton is correct - wide-ranged use of air to resupply encircled troops by the Wehrmacht - examples from the first page were Korsun, Demyansk, and Rzhev (!!). Thus, said units are withdrawn. ...
