RE: WORLD IN FLAMES PRESENT DAY ?

Patton in Flames took up into a a theoretical confrontation with the Soviets and potentially extended the game into the 50's.  Don't think anything official has gone further than that.

<r> <QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>ORIGINAL: gdrover<br/> <br/> My one suggestion is that perhaps the French AI was set to be much too aggressive with its valuable navies. Rebuilding a whole new navy would be costly and take a long time. Shouldn't they try to husband their resources after a defeat to keep the...

Cool!!&nbsp; If I had had time, I would have volunteered to be a playtester.&nbsp; Alas! I am left drooling over screen shots for a while longer.&nbsp; Thanks for sharing! :)

RE: Just get it right.

I still think a Gamma version is not a good idea, but I'm fanatic enough that if offered, I'd buy it. [X(] (That's mostly pragmatism that even if Steve took in another round of beta testers, I just don't have time right now to keep up my end of the bargain, but I'm aching to play MWiF)

RE: OT - Any recommended wargames for Vista or Mac?

I would hope 6 GB RAM would qualify as "scads" [:D]
&nbsp;
Good point about the hardware issue, but I've never done 3d modeling with Illustrator anyway, so that shouldn't be an issue.&nbsp; Thanks again for the tips.

RE: OT - Any recommended wargames for Vista or Mac?

<t> As a recent upgrader to Vista, I can report I've had little to no problems with older XP games under Vista. The only real problem I've had so far is that my copy of Adobe Illustrator 8 won't install on a 64-bit OS (My computer came with 6 GB of RAM, so it also came with 64-bit Vista). That reall...

RE: Just get it right.

Putting out a "gamma" version, no matter how desperately I want to get my grubby paws on any copy of MWiF, would probably be a bad marketing idea.&nbsp; Then the forums will be chock full of bug reports and issues and could turn away potential new customers.&nbsp;

Some of the beta testers have 3 monitors

And here I was feeling pretty smug about my recent acquisition of a second 22" widescreen flatpanel. [:D]

When my brother was in the Navy, he spent a year at NAS Sugar Grove, in the mountains of West Virginia.&nbsp; Sugar Grove is a site for a long range communications array.

RE: Scrap Lists - Default

Like I said, I think whether or not to scrap 5 AtA Zeroes in 1943 is up to the player, there are decent arguments either way (yours vs. clearing out the pool faster for the better stuff coming down the pipeline).

I know, but I'm not using to be affected by this.&nbsp; Until two days ago, I just kinda sneered at those who were suffering as I blithely went along my way.&nbsp; I have been humbled. [:(]

<t> I had a nice thoughtful response to add to the discussion, then got hit by the forum timeout bug.&nbsp; Let me sum up:&nbsp; I've been waiting for ~15 years for this product (I first got wind of ADG's desire to have a computer version of WiF in the early 90s).&nbsp; I've waited that ...

To my eyes they all look distinct from each other.&nbsp; I can readily distinguish between Japanese and Russian, CW and French, German and Italian and American.
