RE: Enemy units are shooting past their attack range

Like Franchot surmises, those archers in that mission start off on what's considered a wall, giving them +1 to Accuracy, +1 Evasion, and +2 to Range on their bows. So, in theory they can still harass you at 10 spaces and make pincushions of your necromancers. [;)]

RE: How do set the Enemy in the Editor?

<t> Any NPC (even from same faction) is automatically an enemy unless tagged with the one tag that turns it into a friendly (but non-player controlled) unit. This nicely allows for missions where you fight members of your own kind (good for story missions).<br/> <br/> The editor is nice, easy to use...

<t> However I may feel with a few more hours of Drums of War under my belt, this game certainly does not give off a good first impression.<br/> <br/> Despite some poor opinions earlier today, I broke down and picked it up because I used to love somewhat lite tactical battle games going back to the d...

RE: Why is this game selling for $50?

<t> Is it worth $50 today? Let me put it this way: I bought a physical copy of this game ages ago and recently have had an itching to play it again (it's one of those rare games you can keep coming back to), but can't find my media anymore. Even at $50, I am VERY tempted to just buy it again, that's...

RE: Demo coming soon!

<r> Congrats on a very smart move. RE: Background Graphics

<r> I get the impression that (at least the actual combat sections) were graphically designed to invoke a simplied heads down display look and as such I approve of the plain, black void and the simple, one or two color icons for everything. Now, if we're talking sprucing up the game/squadron mainten...

RE: Community website scenario's

<r> One thing I noticed that seems common on these scenarios (which seem to work fine... haven't put more than a few turns in any yet... was mainly curious about the extent some have changed the graphics, etc) is that when you click on a unit for details, its image only shows the upper left corner o...

As the others have said, the more randomness allowed, the better, so I'm all for starting with a small bit of randomness, especially if it's an optional thing.

RE: Should exiting before Turn 4 be added to the game? Poll

<r> I voted 'no'. <br/> <br/> Realistically, our Hornets <I><s></s>SHOULD<e></e></I> be able to leave the area early. They should also be able to loiter a bit longer to either finish the job or cause extra damage. And, should the flight leader see a wall of AA that will mostly likely take dow...

RE: Pilot experience "level-up"

<t> Having never played the board game (my closest experience with Mr. Verssen's games is Battlefront's 'Down in Flames' adapted game), I don't know what comes from where, but I do concur that having user-created characters would add to the game, both in making it seem a bit more fresh each time and...

<t> I generally use one direction with the following exceptions: <br/> <br/> 1) As in jureidinim's case, if I see a potential troublesome target that doesn't work for my main approach and I have a (hopefully) fast guy who might be able to take it out without deviating more planes off the main target...

RE: Leaving target area before turn 4

<t> I suppose its imitating the board game that way, but it does seems sort of silly that my squadron can swoop in, lay waste to&nbsp;their target by the end of round 2 and then have to loiter at the edge of the target zone as if gawking at their handiwork for two more turns. If through luck, pl...

RE: Pilot experience "level-up"

<r> So pilots have a fixed upgrade tree? That's a little disappointing. It would be cool if someone like Package leveled up and, due to really lucky rolls, suddenly became a star or someone like Wedge whom you're hoping becomes deadlier wallows with just a slight improvement. Granted, leveling up do...
