Any Chance?

<t> Any chance of creating and maintaining a community scenario pack like they do for CMANO? I see a lot of good scenarios that I want to try but downloading each individual scenario is a bit time consuming. Okay I admit it, I'm lazy but I do think a community scenario pack and maybe even a communit...

RE: Can't Create a Quick Battle

Figured it out. I missed the second beta patch. Once I uninstalled the first beta and applied the new beta patch everything worked fine. Thanks again Warhorse for checking it out for me. Turned out to be on my end.

I'll take it. Guess it's something on my end. I'll reinstall and see if that works. Thanks.

Can't Create a Quick Battle

<t> I've been trying to create a random or quick battle using France vs Algeria 1957 as my parameters. I'm trying to simulate the fighting during Algeria's War of Independence. Everytime I try to set it up the game crashes with two messages stating that an Algerian OOB for battalion level can't be f...

RE: Patch out for those who are wavering

<t> I don't think anybody is going out of their way to find fault. What I said about their QA is actually true. The fouled up events and high casualty rates should have been obvious within the first 15 turns of the game and found in testing. The fact that it wasn't or that it wasn't fixed before rel...

RE: Patch out for those who are wavering

<t> I don't see games that way. I see games as an entertainment venue. I get great value for the money I spend but the problem is that due to poor testing or poor QA, I sometimes have to wait several weeks or months after my original purchase to start getting some entertainment. We already know that...

RE: Why Steam?

<t> The only thing I really hate about Steam is their Early Access program. To me it seems like a way for some shady 'developers' to walk off with a lot of money. I've purchased a few games that were in Early Access and the only one that has actually been successfully released has been Kerbal Space ...

RE: State of the game and future plans (?) May 2015.

<t> I read this whole discussion and quite honestly the state of MWiF really doesn't surprise me. Matrix sells works in progress. I can safely say that because I own 40 Matrix titles and can't think of one game that was actually completely finished when sold. Most games have taken multiple patches o...

RE: New beta .29 sets off antivirus programs

<t> All 3 AV programs logged as a trojan and removed the main WarInTheWest.exe size 6.32 MB. It's probably a false positive but when 3 AV programs all say the same thing, I believe it's something worth checking. I tried on 2 desktops and 1 laptop with the same results. I'm not trying to run 3 AV pro...

RE: New beta .29 sets off antivirus programs

I didn't use the installer. I downloaded from Matrix' website. The Member section. It just seems odd that 3 different AV programs would register a false positive. Never happened to me before.

New beta .29 sets off antivirus programs

<t> I'm sure this is just a false positive but could somebody check to be certain. I downloaded and installed the .29 beta and Windows Defender alarmed me that it was a Trojan. So I installed Avast AV and got the same result. I uninstalled Avast and put on AVG. AVG gives the same result too. All thr...

RE: Politics allowed over at Wargamer

<t> I read the article. My advice would be to not go to the site anymore. I stopped going there a long time ago. I go to sites to read about PC wargames and wargames in general. I don't go to read some jerk trying to push his political opinions under the guise of an article on wargaming. I'm conserv...

<t> Is there anyplace else I can download this patch? I'm on a fiberoptic line with 50 down / 50 up speed and I'm connecting at 54 kb. That's less than dialup. Something that should take me no more than a couple of minutes to download is going to take me over 2 hours to download from here. Every tim...

I see the same issue. It looks like a known problem with Allied AI got affected by some new code. I've sent a report to Gary, he promised to address it.
Thanks Pavel.

I'm reading Manstein's Lost Victories now. Very good read. Just got to the part about German attempts to relieve Stalingrad.
