When???

Kharkov: Disaster on the Donets is the latest strategy title from the award-winning team at Strategic Studies Group. A synthesis of the very best elements of two critically acclaimed and top-rated game systems, Decisive Battles and Battlefront, and a successor to both, the new Kharkov: Disaster on the Donets brings to life a campaign of epic scale and dynamic battles on the Eastern Front of World War II.

When???

Post by Skeleton »

I say this all from the perspective of one who really believes that this is one of, if not the, best engines and game designs I have ever played. The A.I. never grows old. Having said that, as we approach two years old for this game I have grown tired of playing the same sceanrio, desipte all of the variants. When can we expect something more than the 16 turns that we have had to be satisfied with for this entire time? I realize there have been some small user made scenarios, and I marvel at anyone's ability and effort to create those, so that is not meant as a slight in any manner. But, some type of feedback on either ATD 2's release or some information regarding the very promising scenarios that some very talented people have been working on, would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance for any information anyone can and will provide.

Hello Marcus,

I think that there are 2 scenarios released - both small:
Kirovograd
Liptsy

There are a bunch in development and within a couple months of release:
Operation Konrad
Borodino
Across the Dniepr
Husky(?)

No one knows the release date for these but I hear it's close. Still there's no telling if there will be delays. We need more scenario designers obviously. :)

I ditto Marcus' comment.  I'm still playing K:DotD but I'm turning now to play what I think is HPS PzC's top 1 or 3 battles, Smolensk.  It mirrors AtD in time period and scope ... give or take a little.

I'm a wargame whore and play several different engines from SSG to Panther games.  I have several PzCampaigns, Highway to the Reich, KP/BiN/K:DotD, TOAW, Steelbeasts, and a few others.  I jump between all these titles.  ... have been for a long time

PzC's Smolensk is especially good because of the accurate OOB's, constant upgrades, and ability to conduct maneuver warfare.  I'll be ready for AtD when it hits the streets.  I do wish it was sooner than later but I can be patient.

New forum has opened
Conflict of Heroes "Most games are like checkers or chess and some have dice and cards involved too. This game plays like checkers but you think like chess and the dice and cards can change everything in real time."
