Army Group South has launched a attack south of Chisinau destroying 2 Soviet korps. We have started our winter attacks early as to surprise the Russians and to hinder there winter attack. Air attacks have targeted Soviet cities in a hope to bring out some Soviet air power.

Finland has launched a attack in the very north retreating the Soviet troops in this area. Lenningrad has been bombed also.

In the central area our tank armies continued to attack the enemy lines. The german and axis minor corps barely held on, but their entrenchment is likely gone. Thanks to the heavy presence of KV heavy tanks our losses were minimal in tanks. The tank armies gain experience fairly fast in the attrition battles. 2 tank bn's were upgraded to guard's tank bn's thx to their heroic efforts in the Battle of Minsk. The Red air force was rebuilded, but they will be only put in action when needed (in a nice blizzard). The 16000 fighters should be enough to keep the Luftwaffe back for 2 or 3 weeks before annihilated.

Losses this week:

64/77
179/104

I think I have 7 or 8 Hq's full, and some dispersed around the map to stop german terror bombers. I have only bombers and fighters. No ground attackers as I changed them to I-15 ground attackers who upgrade to hurricanes (I changed the hurricanes to yak's so it went fast). My fighter air groups are nearly full so, yes I must have nearly 16000. Ok, I reloaded the last turn kingtiger sent and counted them. I have 66 fighter groups with 13323 fighters. The normal soviet lying:)

I hope the small numbers of fw109a's that I have will be enough to defeat this very large Soviet airforce. I still have not reequipped all my fighter airwings with fw109a's as yet.

Reformed our defences and airforce for the up and comming Soviet attack. We are suffering heavy losses in our strong defence lines due to the massive amounts of heavy tanks the enemy is attacking with. In some cases we are only destroying 3% of the attacking armor while taking around 50% losses. We have no idea how to fix this problem and hope our new tanks will be able to restore some order on the front again.

A few means at least 4000 our intelligence recons:( Our armor has attacked the german panzers. They could not do their fancy moving around in the mud, so quite a few were destroyed. The finnish airfields were attacked unsuccesfully, but our heavy bombers destroyed about 200 undefended ju-52's west of Lvov. Our allies succesfully bombed Rome.

This week Germany has launched a large scale air attack on Soviet cities bombing Leningrad, Kursk, Bryansk, Tula and Kharkov. Kharkov was well defended and our bombers failed to reach there targets.

2 counter attacks in the centre have retreated the Soviets in there path but German high armor losses are becoming a problem.

Large air battles again over Kharkov but bombers have failed to made it to there targets. The Soviet airwings are holding there own in the air and it will be tough going fighting 60+ airwings.

Counter attacks along AGC has had some mixed results. Large numbers of heavy tanks in this area are destroying my armor at a rapid rate.

The front is very static and Soviet are starting to move into contact in the north and south. We expect a major attack backed with the airforce soon, very soon.

The enemy fighters are destroying about twice as much fighters as they lose over Kharkov. The losses are evened by the bombers shot down somewhat. This hurts big time, but Stalin has ordered that Kharkov will NOT be bombed. Hope the germans know this... The german panzers were mostly evacuated from the area attacked by our weak and innocent tank armies. German panzer losses are down. Late rain arrived.

I'm up for a game King...haven't played online for nearly 2 years. It's hard to stop the Germans in 41 or 42, ( I can't stop me) but i'll give the Soviets a try. Is 3.3 ok?

Turns will not be played for about 3 weeks as tom1939 has to attend to a few things.

What time frame do we think Germany will be destroyed?
Anyone have any thoughts on how the Soviet winter campain will go?
Do we think that Germany will be able to launch a 43 summer campain?
Just trying to get some readers imput into this fun game

Looking at the turn reports for this game there is a gap of reports from August to November. So it's a tad difficult to say without knowing how the war has gone on during this period.

Has the entire German lines been constantly pushed back?

If you're near the borders of Poland and Romania then it'll be game over for the Germans by August '43 at the latest. I think the Germans will cause a few problems in '43 but not enough to derail the entire front. And if you're are near the borders of Poland, the Winter readiness loss for the Germans will disappear and they may be worthy opponents.
I didn't know it then, but looking back, in hindsight, I realize that when I was younger I could see into the future. Now I'm getting all my premonitions as flashbacks!

There is a gap in the reports because nothing happened.
Both sides were mostly not in contact for the most part of august- november with only small scouting battles taking place.
The German lines have retreated back and are very close to there jump off positions.
