BigBabes - which naval engineering squads?

Post by castor troy »

Hi

another question on BigBabes, which naval engineering squads help loading/unloading? In stock there are only naval support squads but babes got loads of engineering squads I got no clue which really help doing stuff.
Naval support squads, shipping squads etc. In the base screen it's shown "naval support" and "shore party". Which squads belong to them? And is there really a difference or is it just a display question?

edit: nevermind, found the answer in a 3 yo thread after using google. After so many years I still wonder how ppl are using the forum search, must be the worst I've ever encountered. [:(]

Actually, just getting underway with my first Babes experience, I would really appreciate if someone could run down the various engineer units and how best to use them. There is some difference from stock and I have yet to get a feel for what assets I have.

It's not so much the "Unit" that matters, but the types of engineer "squads" (devices) that are in those units. It's the individual Devices that are data tagged to a. build, b. add to AV, c. reduce forts, d. help load/unload, and e. do nothing much more than eat.

A SeaBee unit can be regular, or 'special'. Regulars are pretty tough - build, AV, reduce forts. Specials aren't; they build and help load/unload. It's all in the mix of the Devices within the unit. Construction, Combat, and Amphib engineers are all engineers, but they are configured for waaaaay different things.

Once one learns the device specs, it won't take long to get the hang of who can do what to whom.

[ed] whoops, DaveConn beat me to it.

'IJA Const Labor Sq [703]: (dead weight; abilities subsumed in other devices in unit)'

What exactly does this mean?

it doesn't build or help loading/repairing ships, reducing forts. It's just there to simulate the "manpower" that IJ needed to construct stuff. It does eat supplies and needs space on ships.

Actually I found that the "All Forum" and the "Subscribed Forum" options don't work, but if I scroll down to WITPAE the search works pretty well.
