RE: American wallpaper or load screens

<t> You can be that artist just need to save them on your pc in bmp format works best when you get to editing parts IIRC, the large the image you start w/ the better it becomes if needing to shrink. I use MS Paint & save them in 1024x768 size as bmp then rename as the Openload file for using on ...

Thanks Reg, I might be able to get a version of 8 since that is my current desktop (since upgraded to 10) but should be able to get serial # from it.

RE: Seagull shortage

<t> In my personal scenario I've been working on, I remedy the Seamew rates plus add in the Seahawk. In my stock games, I've not had problems filling out my seaplane units except early war when the allies are screaming for any & all planes by midwar my units are fine w/ a fair amount of replacem...

RE: spinning up a VM for AE

<t> Reg - where did you get your Win XP iso from? Not sure if I have my version of it on disk to use as my laptop that I had it for probably was preinstalled & didn't come w/ disks. I know I can get Server 2008R2 & later from work probably but not sure they'll work. I've got a version of Ubu...

RE: spinning up a VM for AE

<t> I just got back into the new BTR from the old Talonsoft version & noticed it had the same issues w/ Win10 as AE did when they patched it but again all same things that worked for AE to make it run faster didn't work for BTR. I was thinking that a Win7 version VM should be fine w/ maybe 1g as...

spinning up a VM for AE

<t> Has anyone experimented around w/ running AE on a vm with an older version of windows to get around the win10 issues? I ask more for trying to play BTR which seems to have the same issues AE has w/ win10 but I can't get the same things that work for AE to work in BTR so I thought about winding u...

<t> If you want to get a hotel near to Oshkosh, you need to book a yr in advance as that's what people do when they leave & are planning on coming back. I booked 6mos & got into Green Bay as the closest w/o going into $$$$<br/> <br/> <br/> If you go on YouTube & search for Oshkosh approa...

RE: Semi OT: The Lady B Good

Know the story & read about it - it'd make a good movie as long as they tried to keep it historical. There were some parts of the plane that were recovered & used in some flying Libs & a couple have crashed ie urban legend/ghost story.

RE: Question: American friends.. Oshkosh WI Air Show?

<t> Been to it & worth the trip - may have to stay as far away as Green Bay to find hotel if looking this late. Many warbirds, air races, shows & some air rides you can take plus the experimentals to look at. Lots of vendors for aviation related items both as common visitors as well as looki...

RE: OT-Sharing a some pics of a cool rifle.

<t> For 7.92x33 ammo, you can make your own if you've the set up. I think Hornady or PriviPartisan made a run a few yrs ago so there might be some out on the gunshow circuits, you can occasionally find some Nazi era or Czech made postwar stuff. To make your own, I think it's using either a 30.06 or ...

RE: Spitfire (OT)

<t> It might be possible for some to do it based on their stall speeds & how big a tailwind it might be. CVN capable of 30+ knots put flaps down & do a Doolittle type takeoff w/ full revs & IIRC the deck of a CVN is longer than a WW2 CV so they might have the length for the a/c to get en...

RE: Transporting Aircraft

<t> Any AK/xAK/AKV/CVE/CV type will work. To load it, unit must not be restricted command & in same port/base hex to load onto ship. If it is able to load, just load it like you would troops & the like by selecting the unit to load it - basically 1 unit per AK. IE say you've got a 5 AK trans...

There's probably quite a few ww2 ships still floating around in active foreign service - Adm Belgrano (ex Phoenix) comes to mind though it was sunk during Falklands

To me the original XCOM Terror from the Deep is best version. Xenonauts is a pretty good redo overall of the system though there are some things I don't like about it

<t> There's no longer original thoughts in Hollywood. It's take an old movie & spruce it up w/ lots of special effects & maybe sex it up. There's been mention of redoing Lawrence of Arabia & the only way I can see them doing something original w/ that is exploring his supposedly risqué i...

Thinking of making the NYD trip up for the game this year but alas SP will be closed w/ it being Sun & NYD. If you happen to make the return trip to Bartow in Feb, send me a pm - we might have tailgate going or at least a pregame meet somewhere so you'd be welcome
