Re: Living Manual

The explanation is actually really simple. We handed in about 900 pages of text (ie what is now the Living Manual) and all the images. So that would easily have generated about 1000+ pages of published manual. The layout people managed to squeeze all that into the 520 or so pages of the published ve...

Re: Trying to Wrap my Arms Around Logistics

Best way to think of it is as a system with multiple constraints. Which is the critical one shifts according to circumstances. So in most situations, those that stem from demand and storage capacity are secondary but there are times when that side has to become your focus. In terms of supply, the us...

Re: Trying to Wrap my Arms Around Logistics

aye, its one of those things were what actually happens is tricky. In effect you have unlimited freight at the NSS, the amount that can be sent is constrained by distance and rail cap (so for Germany all the level 2 rail yards west of say Warsaw). This gives 000 MP that is used to push out the freig...

Re: Any difference between drop down Naval and AD Naval?

its one of those parts to the air war that really is more relevant to WiTW but may have a very situational use in WiTE2. In WiTW auto-naval is useful along the N African coast. Keep about 50% of the air assets spread out and they will put up enough low level interdiction to largely offset the low le...

AI and port building

Just to report that the AI seems to generate a lot of ports, I think I started my current game in version 1.20i and I'd guess that something like half its buildings are ports. if it helps, here's a T220+ save point: https://we.tl/t-VaNZjzY5Sw edit - meant to add, if I have more than one SHQ, newly c...

Re: Air Recon Miussion Heights

Wish I could help, but I do manual missions. And, as you are considering, I seperate my recon aircraft based on type and fly each mission at camera optimum altitudes. utterly irrelevant to how the game plays, see final para of section 18.1.6. mission height sets how the planes move from base to the...

few obv errors though 23.8.3, vehicles. Lack is 20% for non-mot, 50% for motorised - makes quite a difference ammunition shortage affects both mot and non-mot fuel shortage only hits cv once its worse than 50% also the fuel+ammo penalty for mot units is taken together and can't be worse (combined th...

Re: Reinforcement chart

.... Years back I looked into this via AGEOD forums. DEEP within the Game Folder there were some "scripts" witch I couldn't understand, nor know how to open to read. ... you can open and manipulate all the scenario and event files in all the AGEOD games, just use a simple text editor (not...

Re: Suggestions for options for single play

you really have to give the AI 'more time' in all the AGEOD games apart from Pride of Nations

I personally would push the AI ranking at least one more notch - don't make it too aggressive or it will start sending small formations deep into your territory

Re: Reinforcement chart

Each scenario is a bit different but broadly you raise new units in one of three ways: a) scripted reinforcements b) unlocking fixed or neutral units c) raising units by expending resources (this mostly only applies to artillery or supply) In some scenarios its pretty linear but for eg in the French...

Re: Reinforcement chart

In PoN, you have to raise new formations (and indeed replacements for ongoing losses) yourself. So the key information is your force pool and of course the ability of your economy to sustain a military build up. Note that unit improvements can be expensive in terms of replacements - which sort of mo...

Naval movement etc

Am struggling with naval transportation - in terms of the actual mechanics I can move a ground formation across the sea on a port-port style move by adding sufficient cargo ships to the 'division', at the end of the move just detach the cargo ships into their own division and repeat as needed. What ...

Re: Game results - Tell us how your 2 player game ended

GC, Soviet opponent experienced in WiTE1, less so in WiTE2 Game ended T207 in a draw - guess that is the equivalent of a 5 day cricket match that ends up with no-one winning. Data and summary tables in the last post at: https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10182&t=381998&p=5057...
