Re: "Earth loses gravity. Details at 11:00"

Here's how the economy is doing right now. It looks like I'm producing just a tad more oil than I'm refining which is fine for now but if the oil I'm producing drops below the oil required there could be a problem soon. temp.png You should be getting enough fuel in LA that you do not need to keep t...

Re: Cape Town convoys

Convoy TB SupCvy and Convoy WS.17/OS20SupCv arrived at Cape Town. 60,0000 and 180,000 supply plus hordes of tanks and guns. I need these things. What do I do to get them? Doesn’t seem obvious. Thanks in advance for any advice. If you haven't noticed, that Supply Reinforcement convoy is shown as an ...

Re: "Earth loses gravity. Details at 11:00"

I have a Waraway squadron at Sydney that can upgrade to the DB-7B on 3/42 and I did a comparison of the two and it's clearly a better aircraft for the job it does. It can carry bigger bombs, more of them, and a longer range, etc. It has a slightly higher service rating but it carrys armor. I like i...

Re: "Earth loses gravity. Details at 11:00"

TF357 is 43K+ fuel bound for Palmyra and a separate TF is bringing supplies to enable that base to defend itself better. I'm also sending some tenders ( AG, AKE, etc.) in a third TF. I'm substituting as escorts some unorthodox ships like using an AVD as an escort only because it has some ASW cap. B...

Re: "Earth loses gravity. Details at 11:00"

I would have sent the Saratoga along with the Enterprise but it needs 2 more days along the dock to be 100% ready to go. I tried putting it into the shipyard but that made the delay 3 days so I'm leaving it tied to the dock. If there's a more advanced carrier capable aircraft at Pearl than on the c...

Re: "Earth loses gravity. Details at 11:00"

At least one Jap CV attacked Wake all of a sudden and a lot of my ships got sunk and I've got a carrier group east of Wake with it's AO TF and I think I need to retreat with both of them. At least until I know what the Japs have at hand. temp.png I count 5 torp hits and 15 bomb hits on stationary s...

Re: "Earth loses gravity. Details at 11:00"

Here's how Singapore is doing right now. The tool tip that you get when you hover over the green dot just below the anchor gives a very large list of Allied units there and it wouldn't fit in the image but the summary at the bottom is there and will give a rough idea of the strength of the units. I...

Re: Obscure messages in Operations Report

I had a message about "Decks Awash, Crew Abandon Ship" on HMS Prince of Wales at Singapore. Next turn the ship was in the Shipyard getting pumped out! Several times I have had the message about "Damage Control Parties Trapped Below Decks". Sometimes you see reports about "Su...

Re: Obscure messages in Operations Report

I had a ship grounded for 3 days while traveling along the eastern side of the Great Barrier Reef. It eventually got off with a little flood and systems damage. I guess you could call that MIA and then found again!. Or was that message about the old DD captured by the Japanese and then used in the I...

And another one that it wouldn't include in the previous post: (note the % major damage in brackets on the right - how does it get that high!)

Re: "Earth loses gravity. Details at 11:00"

That TF _should_ be ok, as TF off map don't use fuel. I gather you are moving Enterprise to CT to withdraw. FYI, you could have withdrawn Enterprise from Columbo. You can withdraw ships from Columbo, Sydney, CT, San Francisco, Any size 9 west coast USA port, and, supposedly, any allied size nine po...

Re: "Earth loses gravity. Details at 11:00"

The game tries to follow historic moves in certain areas. The Port Moresby campaign is one of them. IRL, the Japanese had to abort the direct invasion of PM after the Coral Sea battle stripped them of their carrier cover. They landed the troops at Buna which they could cover with LRCAP from Rabaul o...

Re: "Earth loses gravity. Details at 11:00"

Thanks for the good ideas and the good info and the link. I'll look into it. Singapore says it has only 20 supplies and that's not good. And the AV is only about 900 or so. I'm not sure that's enough to hold off the Japs for very long. And there's plenty of damage to the facilities. I'm going to ha...

Re: "Earth loses gravity. Details at 11:00"

Here's what's been going on in the PI. The Japs have been attacking at Manila and Clark Field every day for about a week now. These results are typical of what's been happening for about a week now. temp.jpg This is typical of the AI 'planning'. It sends in units that are too weak for the job and t...

Re: "Earth loses gravity. Details at 11:00"

There's a lot of Allied boat traffic among the smaller islands SW of Pearl. TF121 has a fragment of an LCU that's made up of motorized equipment and that can't unload at the port where the rest of the unit unloaded. It's going back to Pearl where it'll be safe until the port is big enough to handle...

Re: "Earth loses gravity. Details at 11:00"

TF367 is a small TF containing an AS and it's DD escort. They are headed for Canton Island and they have 34 more hexes to go. That's not quite two weeks yet I'm guessing. I'm hoping there's no drama on the way. temp.jpg If the Japanese have Tarawa and an airfield 2, they can send out Betties and Ne...
