• Enemy sub activity near Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Geraldton. A large convoy is about 9 days away from arriving at Melbourne but with only 1 escort for 27 tankers and merchants it might need help as it draws near. The convoy will be near the northern tip of New Zealand in two days.

• Collectively, the enemy is ashore in NW with: 8th Tank Regiment, 21st Division, 47th Infantry Regiment, 146th Infantry Regiment. This force can take Darwin from landward and drive into central Australia. The Hudson's on naval search at Darwin are no longer needed there and are moving. The big question is: should we withdraw from Darwin to form a line where defenders will not be cut off? We are definitely pulling out units which cannot support the direct defense, such as excess air support, air HQ, etc.

Additional units (beyond what was previously described) are being sent to/through Alice Springs, Cloncurry, and Normanton.

• Fuel unloading at Wellington.

Philippines

"like a boa constrictor" Well said.
I think he will have major supply issues in central Oz not unlike the allies problems there. I am experimenting
with Tenant Creek but even with a small airlift cannot keep it supplied. I do have a reinforced division sitting
in rough terrain to the north of Alice Springs which is well supplied and should he try and come down the
secondary road there I feel I may have a tank battle I'd like to see. The Matilda is here as well as Stuarts and
decent arty. I have little fear of him coming this way, could be wrong, but this is a place I'd like to see him try
and force me to battle. I have rails and he has long featureless tracks. This would also subject him to the
B17s in clear terrain. I do have angst of an entry via Perth or worse the northeast.

I agree with Zulu. A nice metaphor. A few posts back you mentioned "summer invasions". Have you revealed the location and I missed it ? Or is that still to be determined ?

It's been quite a while since I did it but as I recall an aid to getting supply to Alice Springs is using supply draw settings at the closest bases down the rail line. In no case have I found it easy or guaranteed to get all the supply I want into Alice Springs; it's just so far away.

The greatest worry I have is over how many of the Australian armoured units have 35 experience. Having arrived with 0% preparation they have to get to 100% before gaining experience outside of battle so some of them must be used in battle as is.

It's always difficult to know when/where the enemy is going to stop on their own. Allow too much to be drawn into the interior and SE Australia would become vulnerable. That can not be allowed!

Yes. The targets are (in no particular order): Roi-Namur; Kwajalein Island; Wotje; Maloelap; Mili; Tarawa (last). Units were assigned a while back and are well on their way in preparation.

Thanks. I have Tarawa (he never took it) and sent a FT TF with Marine Raiders to take Mili. Your list looks a lot like mine !

• Enemy sub activity near Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth.

• Fuel unloading at Wellington; oil unloading at Adelaide.

• The longer range Hudson's have moved from Perth to Geraldton while the shorter range Hudson's (ex-Darwin) have to Perth. This might give us more warning if carriers come down the coast. The RN old light cruiser squadron is at Geraldton awaiting their chance to surprise enemy carriers.

Philippines

DEI, Dutch new Guinea, Borneo, Malaya
• No sorties against Oil today. Flight time is hard to come by with the skies so full of Imperials.

China
• The Empire still chases our runners. We are trying to make Sian last as long as possible. One small undead reinforcement unit just arrived. A living unit, with heavy weapons, is a few days away. A large undead unit arrived at Chungking today and is heading strait for Sian; the lack of a clear road path will lengthen their journey.

India, Burma, Thailand, Indochina
• Enemy sub activity near Jaffna, Karachi.

• Enemy sub activity near Karachi.

• 22nd East African Bde has unloaded at Bombay. It will remain there for the time being.

• The first Fuel/Supply convoy from Abadan has arrived at Karachi. Ships in port there without escort will join that convoy for the return trip as now escorts are required, which also means gaps between ships, large convoys, and much less efficient use of the docks.

• A large convoy of primarily air groups is loading at Aden.

Hmmm - Bintang sounds like a collision and Sophocles (said with descending register) sounds like sinking sounds. I think Shillong, Kooringa and Enggano are next!

Look at that damage profile! How the heck did that happen? One has massive flotation and engine damage, the other major engine damage, and both have no real systems damage at all. I think supernatural forces were at work.
