• Enemy sub activity near Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Geraldton. A large convoy is about 9 days away from arriving at Melbourne but with only 1 escort for 27 tankers and merchants it might need help as it draws near. The convoy will be near the northern tip of New Zealand in two days.
• Collectively, the enemy is ashore in NW with: 8th Tank Regiment, 21st Division, 47th Infantry Regiment, 146th Infantry Regiment. This force can take Darwin from landward and drive into central Australia. The Hudson's on naval search at Darwin are no longer needed there and are moving. The big question is: should we withdraw from Darwin to form a line where defenders will not be cut off? We are definitely pulling out units which cannot support the direct defense, such as excess air support, air HQ, etc.
Additional units (beyond what was previously described) are being sent to/through Alice Springs, Cloncurry, and Normanton.
• Fuel unloading at Wellington.
Philippines
DEI, Dutch new Guinea, Borneo, Malaya
• The Empire is taking its time; like a boa constrictor.
China
