Immer Etwas

Post by pzgndr »

For those in the Strategic Command community who remember Immer Etwas (aka Desert Dave), I have received sad news that David Maurer passed away on March 12th.

Dave and I had been playing and playtesting the SC-series over the past 15 years or so, as well as my Advanced Third Reich mod over the past 10 years or so. We've had a lot of fun going back and forth with pbem games and tcp/ip online games. Sadly, he has had health issues over all these years and has been in and out of VA hospitals many times, but unfortunately he could not recover from this last bout.

Farewell Immer Etwas. Rest in peace.

Oh, that is a sad news. What a loss.

I do indeed remember his great SC forum posts during all these last years. Desert Dave, and of course his other nick name, as it is german for "always something"
Thank you for sharing this information.

Rest in peace, Desert Dave.

Sorry to hear that, I knew he was ill quite a lot, must have been tough for him.

Dave designed a good Western Desert campaign for one of the SC2 releases, in addition to the unique style of his forum posts.

I'm also really sorry to hear this.

Dave was one of the first players to contact me directly after SC1 was released and was forever one of its greatest fans. He not only created very playable campaigns, he was also a continuous contributor to the SC series with testing, feedback, and with his writing and editing efforts to make the series as great as it could ever be.

Rest in peace Dave, you will be missed.

Bad News, we lost one of our primary contributers from the SC1 days. Always remember having to reread his prose a few times and then pause.......Huh?[:)]

A good human being, a great scenario designer, our favorite the Western Desert, he'll be missed, but we'll all gather again in that yonder SC world, RIP.

I remember a lot about the early SC days, the conversations and debates, in as well as the gang who made the forums part of home. R.I/P Dave for being one of the Grognards.
