Cricket: Tony Grieg dies

Post by Fred98 »

Grieg was a great cricketer and an entertaining commentator.

He will be remembered by me.........during the Centenary Test David Hooks hit 4 fours off his bowling ( he he he !)

In 1877 Australia won the first Test match by 55 runs and in 1977 won the Centenary Test by 55 runs! (A Test match usually lasts 5 days and usually there are more than 1,000 runs scored by both sides in total).

I think it was 5 fours, and maybe wrong, I think it was still an 8 ball over in those days. my memory of TG wa the the old Nutrigrain ad. R.I.P. Greigy.

I will miss his bantering with Bill Lawry, especially over pigeons.
