Bring recon a combat bonus ?
Example : I send, before the combat come, one unit to recon.Bring this a combat bonus?
I think ,i see only better how many units stand in the hex !?

It's a very good idea to use your cavalry to scout the enemy and screen your own forces. Unspotted enemy units get a bonus in combat. Also, if you scout a region thoroughly, then unspotted enemy units that enter it (i.e. in the reaction phase) still may be spotted even if they were not spotted before. There's no substitute for good recon.

Think i´ll have to scout much more then.
Used my cavalry often to raid the enemy hex to prepare a following attack.
Not sure destroying the railroads has a negative effect for the enemy when i attack the same turn.
 
Used my cavalry often for scouting, but i had too often bad results
cause the enemy hexes were protected by good confederate cavalry leaders.
That´s why i switched to do raids with my cavalry. I´ll change that again.
 
Unfortunately the damn southern AI moves his troops a lot, so i´ll probably
always fight a lot of unspotted units even i use all my cavalry for scouting.
However, a very important tip. Thanks.
